A 2.4L on stock internals, i.e. pistons, rods, etc. some say only a 75 shot of nitrous
There are a number of kits available from Nitrous Oxide Systems (NOS), Nitrous Express (NX), Venom and ZEX. Generally, stock engines in trouble-free mechanical condition can handle modest amounts of nitrous without any trouble. Owners usually run a maximum of a 50 hp shot on 2.2L engines and 75 hp shot on the 2.4 with stock internals. The largest shot so far on stock internals has been Rick King’s 100 hp wet NX system. With proper upgrading of pistons, connecting rods, head gaskets, etc anything is possible!
