Washer Fluid Heater
Tuesday, December 13, 2005 3:14 PM
Just wondering if anyone has heard or experience anything about the units that are for sale at Canadian Tire that clam to heat the washer fluid?

Winter is among us and as most of you likely know the sunfires washer fluid hoses like to freeze up, I was wondering if this heater thing would help solve the problem?

Thanks

it would heat the tank. but if the fluid in the lines is frozen i dont think it would work.
and its kinda pricy but if you do get on let us know how it works ive been eyeing it up for my car

i've been tempted to go buy this... it just connects in-line with ur hoses, and heats up the fluid as it passes through... winter fluid is great, but this wouldnt freeze up on the windshield

How hot is the fluid?
How cold is your windshield?

That doesnt make for a positive scenario.

Winter wiper blades have little to do with the temperature and more to do with the design. They makes them with a covering so the moving bits don't fill with snow and freeze up.

Winter washer fluid is a no-brainer. Everyone should use it if they drive in sub-zero temperatures for obvious reasons.

I've never ever had my lines freeze up and I've driven in the worst southwestern Ontario has to offer.

haha the worst south western ontario has to offer, is like the best day Northern Ontario has to offer .. lol j/k.

My lines still freeze up tho even with the winter fluid.. it usually freezes about a 1/4 below the tip and up.. I can't see myself rushing out to buy this tho, I was just curious to see if anyone had any experience with it.

If I hear of anyone having sucess with it, I will let everyone know.

Thanks

The reflex blades are amazing. You can also a set of wipers at most parts stores that are the exact same, I am not sure of the name on the wiper tho or the price. But they look identical to the reflex wipers.

Thats exactly the point. That unit is not to help "your lines from freezing" or anything like that, i don't know why everybody else is having such a hard time grasping that..!

I've seen those Reflex-like blades at Part Source. The look exactly the same. Most likely are.

I've started using Rain-X winter washer fluid and that stuff is great. I come out in the morning and everyone has frost on their windows but me
