RKSport, my experience with them :(
Tuesday, August 24, 2004 7:12 PM
Ok so back in the day (in march) I bought a pillar pod and 2 gauges from RKSport for my car. There catalog says the pillar fits 95-04 so I figured cool. Well the pillar is way off cause they didn't realize the style changed for the 03-04's which is fine, with me it didn't work crap happens, they were nice and called around and came up with ifo saying noone makes one for the 04's yet but I could heat and mold htis one, so I did. Now the problem was they sent me the gauge pod and pedals for an f-body no gauges. So I called and told them and they said they would ship them the next day, a week later I called again and was taold they would @!#$ the next day, a week later the same thing, finally I get a package and its just one gauge, they forgot the other one, so after a month they finally sent me the other one which was wrong so I sent it back and they said they would send the right one. I called twice a week for over a month and was always told that my gauge would be shipped out the next day because there was always some problem with soething, ususally the purchasing manager. So eventually I finally get told that there was no order placed and they gave me a store credit back in may and no gauges was ordered since, I'm like what the @!#$, so they say they are going to order it the next day for me using my store credit, I'm like well can you guys at least overnight it to me so I know whats going on rather then waiting a week to find out you guys droped the ball again, the guys like your credit isn't enough money for it, I said you guys have been screwin this up for monthes now and you guys wont give out a couple dollars to try t keep a customer, hes like no we wont. SO I was told it would be here a week ago from today at the latest so I called again today... what do you know noone ever placed the order so finally after this long they agreed to refund the money back to my credit card. I told them staight out they are lossing a good customer, in the 1st couple monthes of owning my car I bought their top of the line prostreet coilovers, sprak springs, motor mounts, both gauges, pillar pod, a couple other things here....

@!#$ RKSPORT!

sorry I'm pissed off and had to vent, its rediculous that all this got dragged out this long.
Never had a problem with the company. No back orders, parts were correct and good
customer service. In retail business people have to verify the product to the customer.
Hope every thing goes well for you and the car.

i usually find that all those who DO have problems with em, talk to like 30 different people...

as you will see in almost ANY post on here, most people tell you to call

ASK FOR MIKE PEREZ at EXNTENSION 23...

but alot dont take the advice....

you really cant expect 30 different people to understand your issue if they talk to you at different times...

its like a family doctor, you dont have a new one everytime you go to one, you get one and stick to it....

since mike perez is the cavalier/sunfire person, it would make logic to ONLY ask for him.....

dont ya think?

rksport isnt bad, but if you "forget" to talk to one person and keep it like that, or just get lazy and dont ask for one person, things can be bad....

smaller companies (karo, jenny, and dauber are awesome in my book, sales and as peoples) usually you know who you are talking to....

larger companies have random people....

it even shows so on their website for rksport.

Well, im having a little dealing with them right now. I ordered a SB brace and its made wrong. The mounting plates on either side aren't level. So, i called, emailed pictures, got phone calls, called back. And the guy i talked to is on Vaca until tomorrow (Wed) He's gonna help me out and im'a return the bad one for the new one. I spoke with uh.... X28... forgot his name again. OH... Cyrus (had to look it up). It's been a good experience so far, but ive heard stuff about parts being made wrong. Their customer service is good though. I'll update when its done (with pics even)
Everything I have ever ordered through them directly or through CarCustoms has been perfect and prompt. And they have had, by far, the best quality and fit over the past 5 years on both of my cars. Sorry you have had issues.

That's pretty much the rule in business... your good customers MIGHT tell one other person... but your upset customers will tell MANY of their friends..

Bad business.. it's the best form of advertising!

I personally have never had any problems with RK Sport, but due to my living in Canada and dealing with horrendous border shipping fees... I don't order much from them anymore.

Cyrus at Ext#28 made my dealings with RK very pleasant. I was pissed at first that the piece didnt fit. But now its being returned/exchanged for a different piece AND with the difference in price, he's throwing me a few T-Shirts. I coulda gotten store credit but i dont know when the next time i'll have that kind of money to order anything is. uhm. But when i do get money, i'll either go through RK or CarCustoms. Let's hope theres no problems with the new brace.
whenever youre dealing with a company, the first person you get when you call, you get their name. Then thats the only person you talk to unless its their supervisor. I dont see how a company like that can not just punch something into the computer and bam its ordered and the shipping department just gets it and packages it and ships it out. Its really not that hard to keep orders straight when you are organized. Any good company would fix a problem with a customer right away or ASAP at the very least.
Ive really never had issues with them before....

but im still waiting for them to get back to me on my busted A-arms and leaky rear strut....

I've never had an issue with them and have ordered quite a bit.

In fact, I even rushed to get my car in the garage once (engine was torn apart) and I left the hood open. The latch caught the 'rope pull' for my garage door and bent the hood back... I stopped rolling the car and looked. The metal GM hinge broke. The hood doesnt have a crack in it...

They may be 'expensive', but you ARE getting good products.

Sorry you had a rough time with your situation...

I hate that @!#$. He tried telling me the H&R springs they had custom made were a 1.25 drop in the front and a 1.5 drop in the rear, when in fact they were 1.75 all around. I mentioned that the website said they were 1.75 and he said the website is wrong. So I ordered them and found out before I put them on that they were in fact 1.75. I called up and they didn't want to give me money back but they were willing to ship me the Eibach's for $20 more and another $40 fee to ship. A couple weeks after the UPS man picked up the H&R's my Eibach's never came in. So I called them (again and again) and was told they would be in stock the next week (this went on for like 2 months). Long story short, I will never buy any RK product ever again unless it was used.

In my dealings with them I found Mike Perez to be the best.
When I dealt with them, I promise you they were listed as 1.75 on the website (back then).

I guess it is possible that I am wrong because I asked Cyrus about the springs and he said something along the lines of "Our springs are custom made by H&R and H&R is not allowed to sell them to anyone else but RK Sport, hence it is not listed in their catalog."

We had this same discussion like 8 months ago Event.
ahh i do remember....

they might have had some deal....

rksport has had a few sets of springs since i;ve seen their site originally...

they were prob mislisted...cause i helped write the FAQ for the susp forum back on 9-29-03.... and i know bearsfan made the list way before that where it lists all the spring heights...

I'm done with rksport personally. Carbon fiber hood i got from them wasn't all that great. All of the nuts that the hinges bolt into where cracked off inside the hood before i ever put it on. I managed to fish one of them out and it's no wonder they fell out because all they were were small bolts with some epoxy around them. Emailed mike perez three weeks ago and no response. Going to try and call them next.

Another issue...they had a Carbon fiber filler panel on ebay that had a small chip in it. Well UPS managed to damage it in shipping and crack the whole thing so UPS sent them money to send me a new one. Well the new one got here yesterday and it has a chip too. Maybe they should just stick to fiberglass instead of carbon fiber because every piece i have gotten from them has been messed up in some way shape or form.
