I will hopefully be coming depending on how the Z is doing. I'll have lots of new toys by then too. Ben, we had better get a caravan together soon.
I'm in Silver Spring MD and it's gonna take me 9 1/2 hours (according to Mapquest but I'll make it in 6 hours
) and I have to drive 587 miles. I THINK I have the right address (10267 E US HIGHWAY 136) and I might try to get Simply J's to come in a caravan.
BTW, is that the right address I posted?
I Been calling hotels trying to get price quotes and so far i'm not liking what they have been giving me.. 95 all the way up to 200 a night.... With the gas prices, limited budget and all the mods planned for the summer.. i don't think i am going to be able to make it again in 05... at an average cost that i figured out, i just don't have 700 bucks to blow on a well worth trip...Just a little too far and hotels wanting too much a night... this sucks!

My car was made with wrenches, Not chopsticks.
Steve Hill: That is the correct address. It is located on the west side of Indianapolis (it's actually not even in Indianapolis)
C R J: Don't be so gun-ho about the hotels. We will have hotels reserved for us and get a discounted group rate. Just chill out until Tim releases which hotels these are and what prices they are.

Just using this as a example but. but how do these map sites get there timing. I dont understand how they figure it would take 5 hours to go 250 miles
. I've made close to 400 in that time going about 80 or so
Avg speed of 50mph, they don't assume you are going to speed, and the average speed on many roads is between 45 and 65, slowing down for traffic, stopping, etc can bring your avg speed down to 50ish. I always subtract an hour or so depending on distance if I use Mapquest.

I don't care if you're driving a ferrari, you're allowed to come.....if I can drive the ferrari
Now remember....100/night means among 4 people, (2 double beds usually), that's 25/night. Now, 2 nights, you've spent a whopping 50 bucks. Add on gas, figure 2/gallon even though its only 1.50-1.60 around here....I don't see why most people can't do it on 300 bucks, depending on the drive....700...you better be comin from the other side of the mississippi or upper NE
Well if i do come, it wont be a ferrari but i might have a new car by then, or a V8 in the escort stankwagon
I have a friend that lives in the Indy area, so I can always go to his house. Plus I'm not that far away, its prob cheaper for me to drive home and then drive back.

Brad, Crime is low in the town near IRP (clermont In). I think it is a town of maybe 3,000 people. I dont even think there has been a murder there in 10 years. Brownsburg where most of the hotels are is a bigger town, and it is very low in crime also. So i dont think you will have a problem with crime. But you never know.
