You guys with crazy modded cars who re-invent their rides every year with new bodykits, conversions, wheels, etc. That's alot of $$$ !!!

We are here to listen if you wanna talk about it ! hahaha

But in the show scene it's a must so we support you !!

, I go through wheels like mad (past 2 cars I've had one set of 18's and one set of 17's each), I bought the LS Sport bumpers last Spring, bought Type-J now, gone through several headlight ideas....oh and 3 decks so far, and I'm not even into audio mods.....

@!#$ me! I'm on a set plan now though that I'll stick with, or pretend to, everyone locally calls me a whore ....

Well yeah... if you're modding for the show scene then it's a whole different story. That money isn't wasted... it's necessary. You have to keep reinventing yourself to keep the sponsors interested and keep people checking out the car.

If you're modding just for yourself though... then careful planning can save you a lot of money.

yup...its a disease....I always say okay enough already I'm done...but no one is ever done...I always change my mind on something...I've gone through at least 7 diff door panel designs, 8 dash board designs, trunk set ups at least 4 now...in just 2 years...my last trunk set up wasnt even shown at any shows that's how fast i changed it!
any time i can save up enough money after paying my tuition for school and bills, and going out, anythig i have left over that i am able to spend I'll do it...
it's worse than drugs i think!

My disease makes me do crazy things like buy an hd tv for the basement or a bunch of Ikea furniture, it's transfered to the house. I think i'm just as bad with the house as i wanted to be with the car - i get the better parts and things that i could wait to buy until later. I let myself do it more often than i did with the car because it's only going to help me get more money back in the long run. As for the car, it's done. I want another one to add to the family now.

lol, I think my wife is going to be like that when we get our house.

As for me, I'm not sure. I want a house first. The car that I really wanted to mod
is gone (the ol 87 RS).

I might do the 04...but that will be a while...want to pay it farther down first....

Of course, after seeing a Cobalt Coupe today for the first time, I felt a a slight
mod itch..

I swear, modding is like doing coke, I just never goes away..if you see it you do it..

You guys are giving some nice testimonies (is that a word?)
We should get some sort of group therapy going !! haha

I love walking away from my car looking back like ten times to admire my drop or my rims when the are shiny clean or any latest mod. I love to get in the back of the car and get dirty with the magnaflow muffler.....oops...did I write that out loud ?!

Cars are like a passion and addiction more costly and more fun than drugs

yeah me too man. ive put myself on a diet this year. its going to be completed and then THATS IT. ill be putting towards a house by the end of this year hopefully, so that should take away some of the gusto of modding the car. and by next summer i will be helping my little brother with his first car, so i can still get my fix

in 1 year i did body kit, fenders, hood, celica tail conversion, silvia headlight conversion, air ride...this year car is goin thru another stereo change, being built at my friends house, 4 15's in a fiberglass wall, custom amp rack, door panels and trunk, hopefully i'll also be able to do the custom dash and center console, some 18 inch wheels and tires, another spoiler and maybe lambo doors...so yes i'm addicted...fight it?...i pray to the gods of modding

I got wheels sitting in my room, struts and springs coming this week, and ready to spend around 2k in body work.
EVERYDAY I ASK ???? SHOULD I DO IT OR NOT?????????

Re: Are you getting that urge to spend on your rid

in the past year and a half ive gone through three front bumper, two side skirts, three exhausts, four systems, 2 decks, my cf hood, twosets of hids, two sets of tails nowback to stock, five different tints, three sets of rims, five different colors for interior, and two intakes.

this year is planned to finish everything that needs to be finished to make it look nice, once again, redo the interior, new system again, new suspension, maybe chrome my wheels, new tires, paint the front bumper i jus got, another exhaust...........

sometimes you jus need to not think abotu everything you have done and wanting to do, jsu do it and dont ask questions.......thats the only way i can stay sane, with two credit cards and one good job it works, but i need to settle down i think.........SOMEONE HELP ME PLEASE! no im jus kiddin, I LOVE THIS LIFESTYLE!!!!!!!

My disease is staring projects i think are cool, then not getting time to finishing it, and then when i get time, starting on a new project.

This spring though, I have some things lined up, just like every spring. I really am trying my hardest to get them complete. Im sick of my car looking like @!#$.

AMEN! i am in the same boat man.....thats half the reason for me having so many past mods. i get it either half way done or completely done and then i find something that i like better.

its a sick disease, and the urge never goes away, i could have a bently and still want to mod it, thats why i stick with cheaper cars, im about to do a 02 conversion on my car with a drift kit, for no real reason, just think its cool. ive spent about a grand this year, and its only febuary, and i don't care, its fun..........i guess my favorite thing is looking back at the car and saying "I made it this hot, with my own hands" i love doing my own work

From the first day that I bought something for my car which was June 3rd 2004. Its Feb of 05 and Ive spent a total of 11K on my car.....I have about another 30k that I wanna invest into the car. Everytime I look at my car I get that itch to keep modding....

The saying in 03 Cav Fire's sig fits me perfectly as well...

Yeap, I have an urge to spend on my car. So I'm getting lambos. I'm gonna call it my 18th b-day/graduation/get into OU gift to myself. Only need about $350 and I'm there. So about another month or less. Probably going to be one of my only mods until I get out of college.

I have no desire to waste money on the car this year...instead, i'm buying these in fusion sizes.
For 2005, I told myself I wouldn't spend any money on the car in hopes of being able to disperse my money all over for cheaper stuff (instead of JUST the car, i'll spend money on more clothes, video games, CDs, movies, ect and save up most of it)

I almost made a huge mistake last week as far as spending money on the car...I ordered a new cam, LS1 springs and retainers and some other valvetrain parts to only find out that I ordered the wrong cam Stupid me not doing the proper research and impulse buying, good thing I was able to get my money back before anything shipped.
