Mine isn't a sickness as much as it's stupidity...

I got this car 4 years ago, and developed a mental image of what it was supposed to look like.... then I set up a 5-phase modding system with deadlines and have stuck to it...

I am currently in the 5th and final phase....

And to be honest - I can't wait to stop spending $$$ on the car. The problem with the last year or two is that I was already so far into it that I HAD to finish what I started. It would bug me to be 40 and think of the car I almost finsihed but gave up on.

Either way, almost $30,000 CDN Invested in a $12,000 car.

So, so, so sad.

I'm going to go vomit now.

hmm, I haven't had the urge for a couple years now, sure I still buy the odd thing, lik emy B & M Short shifter, and my rear bumper, but they were good deals. I'm too busy thinking of saving for a house instead, that's why I don't spend money on the car anymore.

I gave in and bought a turbo at the end of last year. Still waiting on exploited to get it to me

***stands up**** my name is Danny and i to suffer from this sickness. Last night was my 1st big purchase, I had been saving up for my header for the past two weeks. Last night my check went into my bank account at 2:30am, by 3am i was the proud owner of a 4-2-1 pacesetter header. Should be in some time next week. The good thing is that every mod from here on out is down hill because of the fact that I don't care about how my car looks, I'm into speed. In the next few weeks I'll be getting my shift kit, motor mounts, and pulley. Then comes the expensive mod a supercharger.....damnit I forgot about having to bend some pipes and make myself an exhaust. All last night i was contemplating on getting the header and when I finally ordered it i felt ALOT better.

Ever since I bought my first car ('88 Mustang LX 5.0L) at 16 I've had the sickness. Ten years later I still have the same sickness but now I have a lot more responsibilities like getting married this year and then buying a house. I'll still buy a few things this year (i.e. B & M Short Shifter, Tint, Lower Mount, maybe exhaust) but I've gotta really watch my money.

My friends always laugh at me because they know I can't keep a car stock for the life of me...

It never ends. No matter how much you get, it's never "good enough." That's how this DAMN addiction is!

I just bought half of the stuff I need for my Turbo Project and I now feel like @!#$ for spending that much. What's wrong with me? What's wrong with US GUYS?! I CAN'T TAKE THIS ANYMORE!

How many members are there on here? I'd love to total up EVERYONE's expenses one day, lol. That would be some serious cash.

Even though I just bought all of this turbo stuff and told myself it would be the last thing for my car, I know deep down inside that it's not. I can stop for about a month and say "I'm never buying anything for my car again!" but you eventually break down...

I'm starting to get the urge even with my car having the right side of the car at the back crushed in at the quarter panel and the bumper. Going around to get quotes on that repair tomorrow, might let them pull the dings out of the doors and repaint the whole thing Sunburst Orange (might keep the current color too! hehe, no decision on this yet depending on the cost to get that quarter panel fixed back up), then onto replacing brakes all the way around and turning down rotors as necessary - needed on the front badly - rims/tires, new shocks, and just start building on her from there. Sure she has 96,000 miles on her but she still runs great. =)
