There was only one mod that was full of himself / always disagree with the members and never respected the members and all of sudden he disappeared. His name was ~ JimmyZ ~ and man was he the wrong guy for the job. So glad hes finally gone or his he LOL . And Weasel your doing a great job man you know whats good for this site and Canon as well, very good mods. Thanks

heh. I had to, bro! The one right before yours was one of those 4-post letter-by-letter deals and he got a ban for it.
It's cleaning up that sort of thing when we don't intend on actually locking the thread that can be a big PITA for us. That's why that rule was put into place in the first place.
As far as old school goes... hey... at least I don't post about my lunch plans in the General forum anymore.

Damn straight!! It was a whole different world here back then and there was no need for moderators.
Somewhere along the line, people screamed "We don't want to hear about your damned lunch plans in the forums!!!" and we took it to email. That was the end of it.
Since the topic here is moderators... it may interest some of you to know that the need for moderators didn't come about because of any sort of rules being broken. The defined rules themselves are a rather recent addition to the site. The need for moderators came about because people would show up on the site just to cause trouble. Everyone in the forums knew one another (not in person... but it was a pretty tight online group) and it would be annoying as hell when some outside with a beef would show up to prove how much better than all of us they were.
We'd have to frantically email Dave to have their posts removed and their IP banned and if Dave wasn't around, all hell would break loose.
Moderators were a welcome addition, allowing some of the regular members who were around more than Dave was to clean up the mess when something like that happened.

j/k...but how long has nigma been gone? i know its been awhile. i met him at the 02 bash and he was pretty cool. i figured he would have stopped in from time to time but i cant remember seeing him since he sold his car.
and it would actually be nice to have a list of all the mods on here. so WW...are we allowed to know or do you have some "undercover agents" whose identities you cant reveal

but a lil more on topic hopfully, what about the sig thing? i belive that sigs that are censored should be allowed. im not trying to personally attack anyone but i belive this is something that needs changed.

Bear in mind that, as I said earlier, the really negative stuff won't get posted here. I have little doubt that there are still plenty of people who don't like having to follow rules and hold us to blame for that, or that simply don't like one or more of the moderators personally or something. But that will always be the case I imagine.
S.O.O: What do you mean by sigs that are censored? Do you mean sigs that should be censored or sigs that already are with black lines, or otherwise?
i find putting sexual content in sigs is 100% wrong, unless its in the AG forum only. this is a public forum and there are lots of different types of people here, many of which dont appreciate those pictures loading when they open a thread.

I'm assuming that the comment came about because of Borsty's sig. There was a LOT of discussion amongst the moderators on how to handle that issue and in the end, I think we made the right decision.
Not because there was anything wrong with his sig in itself. I think most people here will agree that it really wasn't a big deal, and was even fairly amusing. But how do we draw the line when it comes to that sort of thing?
Would Viper's suggestion there be acceptable?
Sometimes we can only hope that the members will make our lives easier and not bring these issues up for us to deal with. If nobody tried to push the boundaries, we'd be much more relaxed and not have to worry. That will never happen though. It's simply a byproduct of the massive number of users we have. Someone will always want to be on the edge and we will always have to deal with that.
Just yesterday I gave someone a warning about a cartoon pic that would never have been allowed if it weren't a cartoon. So should it be allowed because it is? In itself, there really wasn't anything all that bad about it but it would only be a matter of time before someone posted up some full-fledged cartoon porn or something and then we'd be right back into the controversy.
In my opinion, sigs here should never be an issue. It's easy enough to come up with something that identifies you without having to push any rules with it. People have been doing it for years and having something that's going to cause issues does absolutely nothing to improve your posts or anything. There's just no value in arguing over them when it's so easy to use something for which there is nothing to argue over.
