05 Bash
Friday, July 08, 2005 2:39 PM
So it is about 537pm at the bash. Nothing too special in my opinion. Way too hot, much more than last year.

It just isn't as fun this year. Maybe it's the heat. Maybe it really does suck. Who knows? I ran my car on the 1/4, and couldn't even hit a 16.99, when my last year best was a 16.83. Oh well, it is still good to see some old friends, and meet new ones. I hope to take a crap load of pictures tomorrow and make a video for the JBO like I did last year.

Last night was fun and drunken. That's about all. I'll keep you posted.

I've heard it's sucking this year so far...

I don't think I'd like everyone being so split up. I think next year they should book the hotels like every year before that... would be much better from the sounds of it

It's all fun... but the split at the hotels DOES suck... royally.. we thought there would be lots of people at the Holiday Inn Express in Brownsburg... but it turns out most people are at the Avon Super 8... too bad, because I can't drive there, party, and stumble back to my hotel drunk... it's too far.

But other than the hotels being so far apart.. I'm having a great time

well i'm traveling back and forth since i live so close. only 1 person knew who i was , which doesn't surprise me, i'm more known over at v6z24.com.

but it was an ok show so far, i'd really love to see more 2nd gens.

but one thing i must say is that Anthony Jones' 3rd gen is amazing. Loving lenko's car too.

Hey John can you do some research for me. The black Gm sunfire with the charger, I see it does not have a normal IDI cover. Does it have different coils?

Well had a blast, shame I couldnt stay for more than just the Friday race, racing at Union Grove in like 9 hrs from now. But liked the cars that were there. Great to meet everyone, and Have a blast racing.

Great Race to both Adam and Darren, that made the whole trip worth it.
But its late and I need some sleep. Laters

I was talking to Event earlier today, and he said the same thing. I told him some of the people who showed up and he was a little upset that he didn't come this year. But oh well, what ya gonna do?

Today was alright. Once again I didn't place in the show, but I don't care really. I just come for fun. Caviefiend (angie) got third in the sunfire mild class W00T!!!11!!

just got back to the room, went to dinner w/ about 12 people tonight. Kevin from manitoba did his usual and hit on the waitress hardcore. Good times.

Meeting you and watching you prove that the best GM 4cyl ever....was built 10 years ago

Your final race, was the best drag race I ever seen between 2 of anything that races. Identical E/T's in the final, literally, the reaction time won the race for him.

KQ4 - 12.357
Orange Hahn Cav - 12.357

Um, I slept in on purpose....so congrats...you beat me You guys from MN are a great crew, I really enjoyed hangin out with you guys, tons of fun!

Overall...best bash I ever been to. The biggest drag of it, was the split of the hotels....however I was at Avon Super 8, so it wasn't a big deal to me. I've been to every bash since 02, and this was the first bash that was ever as fun as 02 was. I've got 100's of stories from the bash to tell, maybe I'll make a post tomorrow. I just got home, Im beat, I'm about to pass out typing, I loved meeting everyone. Again, best bash EVAR!

It was great in My Opinion.

Ok just to let you guys know. Yes that Super 8 in AVON isn't that bad of Place/ But trust IMPHAT/Cavattack and I when we say. Book the Super 8 and Dollar Inn next year by 465. it isn't a nice of area but the hotels are closer together.

And if it wasn't for all of the Crap that happens at the Hotels in the previous years that resulted in the Hotels waking up Tim in the middle of the Night. Then we could still have host hotels. But the Hotels that I mentioned are used to this type of crowd because off Indy 500, Brickyard 400, Import and Truck Bash. But get ready for higher Hotel prices when the hotels gets wind of how the Hotels are treated when the GMSCBash rolls in. lol

actually...Avon Super 8 told me they want us to come back next year. This was the first year we DIDN'T end up trashing a hotel. That was one of the things that made this year's bash better....no immature bull@!#$

Big thanks to Dan Oakes helping clean up the parking lot after partying at night! Way to watch out for us, man!

Actually Paul, you left a tad early, there was a little immature bull@!#$ last night, but Frank the Tank took care of that lol
Everyone was ALOT more mellow and just hanging out....until it gets to be 3am and there's a chocolate cake sitting around lol
Frank (my car is slower than your car) and I helped the dude clean up outside this morning and he didn't care at all. He said it's better than having an empty hotel haha

It definitely was awesome to see all the familiar faces again and meet all the new ones this year.

eh, it was a lot better then the fairfield inn last year. Most of the room numbers got removed, and some lights knocked down, it was bad.

My biggest worry was the trash outside which I knew wasn't bad...but it did exist. I'll send a thanks to Dan as well

Re: 05 Bash

hotel jason came out clean, not trash at all. but then again im particular about my clientel lol.

i enjoyed the bash allot this year, irp facilities is one of the better places to hold an event like this, only thing i could have suggested is to maybe roping off the area so everyone was more together instead of being so spread out. i kept hearing complaints about how it seemed it was a low turnout, but from what i saw looked to be about as many as usually comes each year, its just the facilities are so big that it was more spread out. i got a bit of a sunburn on my head but the weather was really pretty nice, 80deg with no humidity is a good day in my opinion. and i was pretty amased that we had i think it was about 8 people at our canopy walk away with a trophy. not to mention we had the farthest walk to the stage. little hint for next time tim, put the stage closer to our canopylol
