Sorry to hear the banners were stolen

Sorry to hear stereo stuff that was stolen

It sucks when you have people that arent grown up enough to work for their $%^!

I would be seriously pissed if my stuff was stolen so you have my sympathy even though you happen to leave your windows open %^&$ happens and they had no right to do it

Opinions are like ***holes everyone has one.

Just a thought for next year, (if there is one) you should have "Property of GMSC BASH
& RPI. Please DO NOT REMOVE. If found, please return to Tim Schilling, P.O. BOX
etc.) Printed on the front at the bottom and maybe LARGE on the back. Maybe this
would help discourage them from being taken next time? Like I said, I know how
expensive banners can be.

I'm just curious for the people who saw these people giving out the can coolers were they in the yellow Event Staff Shirts?

As for the banners go, the companies let Tim use them at the track. The 2 Saturn ones had to returned for sure and all the ones by the registration trailer had to back also. I dont remeber anyone stealing them last, why this year?

I was at last years Bash. there was not many cool Banners up and the ones that were, was at companies displays. That would be why.

i know for a fact that there were a couple people who took them last year..

unfortunately with this group of people alot of them are sub 20 and some even in highschool. I can definately see how one person would see someone grabbing a banner and then they just followed suit. you have a lot of immature people in this crowd. stuff like this will happen. im not being a dick or saying its right, its just the type of thing which i would expect. i wasnt there so i dont know what all happened im just saying this really doesnt surprise me.

well it could have been an org member. there are several posts about how this member stole this guys money or parts and vice versa, just because people drive j-bodies doesnt make them angels. and just because someone made a mistake doesnt make him a douche bag. everyone makes mistakes, so grow up and stop the name calling.

as for the can cozy's staff members were handing them out at the end, i must have waved three people off trying to give them to me. that was proabably more an issue of a few staff members seeing the last box and figured we might as well just hand them out.

as for the banners i know one video has allready been posted but i know ive seen other pics of people taking them on here, im sure once they realise what's going on they will do the right thing and get them back to you. i think they have the banners and the stuck in the ground signs as well.

most people want to gripe and moan about some petty things like 30$ or getting screwed by the judges or such. but most don't have a clue of the amount of work that goes on to hold a show like this. i give much thanks to tim and tonya and all the staff for putting in the time and effort to make it happen. i sat here with my wife when we got home after the show and i told her i hoped people wouldn't start complaining because i know if i put in all my time to making a show happen and all i heard was complaints i would just say screw it and not have another one. to many whiny babies want everything to be perfect but dont want to work to make it happen.

It's ridiculous for the sponsors to demand repayment for the stolen banners.

I work in a sign/marketing shop. Banners are intended to be temporary signage - yeah you can roll them up and reuse them, but anyone who wants to plan an effective marketing campaign will come up with new stuff from year to year.

Seems to me that these people got their advertising out of the banners - it's a shame they got stolen, but that's the risk you take with signage of this nature.

If you pay 2000 dollars for a billboard and someone spray paints graffiti on it, the people who rent the billboard space do NOT have to buy you a new one.

If there are any 1 or 2 color banners that need to be replaced and someone can supply me with the vector artwork, I'd be more than happy to "donate" one or two to the cause.

But seriously, I don't think you owe them crap. @!#$ happens. It's not like they lent you a car that got stolen.

yeah most of the banners ive seen at the end of a event were trashed from the wind

which is why i had said most companies figure them into advertising cost losses

All this hatin' needs to stop!

Tim, I've been to this Bash and last year's...had a blast at both. My biggest thing with the Bash(es) is that for months on end you read what other people write, laugh, hate, go "whoa!" with everyone, learn things, get the hook up on stuff. When you finally meet these people face to face, it's overwhelming to me, kind of like a family reunion!
You've done an awesome job with these events. I'm insisting that you email me ASAP (tomorrow) with the means to send you an undisclosed amount of $$$ (Western Union, paypal, etc.). I get paid tomorrow (Army) so I'll have the $$$ for sure. I'd love to help you guys (org) and it would be my pleasure.

And to anyone who wants to hate on the second half of the previous paragraph: I'm not trying to be a knight(ess?) in shining armor or flaunt like I have a lot of money (I don't, I have 3 cars to work on), it's just that you don't understand how much I love the org!

Frank is a great guy...leave him alone or you'll wake up castrated (grrrr)!

i think we should start a bash fund and donate money via paypal or something. i am sure we could bring up plenty of money to help out with the cost of the bash... i mean this was my first one and i really enjoyed it and i want there to be another...

Tim,

I run the JBOC site in conjunction with a few others. I am not as active as I used to be nor did I really participate in the bash this year. I did come up on Saturday and walk around for a moment, however I did not submit my car. It was my 1 year Anniversary weekend.

Anyway, I wanted to apologize for any particiaption the JBOC Crew had. I know one took one for sure and he has contacted you on how to return it. If I find out any other information I will pass it along to you. If you would email me at slyntz@gmail.com I would like to help out if at all possible.

Thank You,
Shawn

One reason... what if 20 people send in money to the fund and the show never happens? What do you do with the 20 peoples' money?

If you guys want to help, help me sell these xtra shirts and get them out of my living room. Not that it's anyone's business but we are seriously in the hole after this year. More then any other year and unfortunately at the end of the day I'm the one stuck with all the bills. No one else. It's not the first time and I'm sure it won't be the last. But with a baby on the way we just can't afford these losses anymore. I'm sure some of you can understand that.

I wanted to mention one last thing that I noticed earlier though. The overcharging at the hotels from last year. That was 110% the hotels guys. They screwed us too so if you want to point the finger at somebody, it was ALL them. Maybe if people wouldn't trash hotels we wouldn't have had the problem in the first place? Just food for thought....

I'm pretty sure that anyone who drives all of the way out to a bash is dedicated enough to donate a little bit for the bash fund. How many people were out there this year? If they all donated like $20, we could raise some good change.

About the banners, I've seen tims car at a bunch of shows. Never met him tho, but this tells me he isnt new to the show scene. Every show starts out with a bunch of baners and every show ends up with none.. It's how it works. If you didnt want them taken you should have announced throughout the day for everyone to please leave them in place... Without people knowing they are going to be reused it is bound to happen. And if you took them that doesnt make you a bad person.... Just say woops my bad and send it back.

As for the shirts.. I'll take one, just tell me where to order one at..
