i don't see the problem... its only the second post the ADBOT... if it came after every 3-4 posts or the top post of each page then yeah... i'd freak out too.

but really... the second post and only one per thread.... thats nothing. just think of is as a usleless post that someone put up that doesn't know what they are taking about.... like this one

but then again... thats just me

I simply cannot believe that someone can be soooooo lazy as to not want to scroll down maybe a few inches further. I mean your already sitting on your butt at a computer screen. It cant be THAT difficult.....seriously.

i am not lazy its the fact of its ANNOYING... if he would have put like a aplus performance banner there it'd be fine but google ads are stupid and rarely pertain to anything that this site is about... oh well i am finally done bitching... OH WELL i dont care anymore... its stupid to have adbot on here and thats final....

ok, so you think that people are going to buy hats and shirts for $25, but not a membership for $3? i still fail to see your logic. even you complained about getting your stickers late. imagine what would happen if there was a problem with getting the shirts made up, and there was a delay. all of a sudden there would be an influx of complaints on the .org saying how they havn't gotten their shirts and that the .org is ripping them off or other such bs that comes up from time to time even with the stickers.

most people who are willing to donate a few dollars to support the .org would like to see some return rather than a stupid shirt. a lot of people who are premium use their unlimited posts to answer questions in the technical forums, because they are helpful people. plus, but actively participating in threads, they also learn about new products and get ideas, along with helping other people with questions they have. that's more important to the j-body community than a retarded shirt.

besides, let's think about this mathmatically... you buy a premium membership that lasts 1 year. after that year, if you want to keep supporting the .org you buy another premium membership. a keychain would probably give $1 profit per item.

however, if you buy a shirt, it'll probably last you a couple years and there's no need to buy another one. so the .org makes about a $15 profit off of a $25 sale, which falls far short of the $20, $40, $60, $80that it would normally make, depending on how many years the member pays for premium membership.

it's simply not enough revenue to rely on selling useless crap. selling premium membership, and offering rewards for premium members (unlimited posts, AG/AAG, attachments, etc) has more value to most people than a shirt or a keychain. not to mention, it's a far greater source of revenue for the site.

read what has been said already... old posts contain a ton of useful information. that is an invaluable resource, and would be just straight up retarded to delete. searching for an old post to get answers from doesn't take up even a fraction as much bandwidth as starting a new thread to ask a question that's been answered 100 times already. not to mention, most older threads have been archived, making it impossible to reply to. not being able to reply to a thread keeps it from being brought back up to the top of the forum, so somebody looking at that thread to get answers can't bring it back. that means they are the only person looking at that thread. if it was replied to, and brought back up to the top of the forum, probably a few hundred more people would look at that thread, thus multiplying the bandwidth used 100 times. this really isn't a hard concept to understand, so i suggest you try to. keeping old posts is something that is necessary.

how many unquie hits does this site get daily? i bet more than HALF the "members" aren't active. it's mostly the same people making posts in thier sections.

i've seen aites run on sponsor money alone. so either dave doesn't charge the sponsers enough. or the JBO is the busiest car forum on the web.

I'm against the ADBOT, but agree with what you have posted. You are right that being able to find a old post (when that function works correctly) is a good thing. You are right that a key chain will bring in very little profit (still something nice to have). I agree premium members should have things non-premium members do not have. I just do not think ADBOT in a post should be one.

There is so much I want to say about this POS adbot, and about this site, but over the past 5 years, I've seen all the bitching about the site that I want to see, so I'll keep it to myself.

I come here once in a while to read up on things, and help out people if I can. It's rare that I post a question, so I would like to think I do more answering than asking. So I come here to help people for the most part, and now when I do that, I have to put up with even more spam? And if I want it to go away, I have to pay you? Wow. That's a new low for you Dave.

The funny thing is all this crap is just another thing to make the @!#$s of this forum/site come out. Just another thing to make more fighting, drama and WASTE MORE BANDWIDTH YOU PEOPLE ARE BITCHING ABOUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's all so funny! If people don't wanna pay thats their business. Maybe they don't have the money, or they aren't on it enough to want to pay unless something interests them. And yes, people may want to buy hats and shirts as apposed to membership because what do you get if you only post a few times a month? Wasting money on something you don't use????? Thats kinda dumb to me!

i never said that hats and shirts wouldn't sell... but they still would NOT sell enough to make up the difference in revenue. duh.

most of the people who are premium (at least anual members) DO post enough to make it worth it. i know of quite a few people who post over 500-700 times a month helping other people out in the forums. most month to month premium members pay when they run out of their 100 post limit. please stop talking, since you're only making yourself look worse with every post.
