Yeah the cavy is gone. I have a Camry and a 91 Max right now. Work, school, kids, and a bunch of other things took me out of the scene. I'm always in the background reading up on the .org just to see whats going on with the new peeps out there. Far as Cube, not sure what he's into. Last I know he was working for Year One taking photos and stuff for their show coverage. I know he got a bike and he also has a kid now. Much has changed for those of us here in the GA land. Anyway thanks and I'll be chatting soon.

WCKIDZ, had something like that, whatever happened to him.
What about Nigma and C.T and all those old names, I think they were around your ways so you would know about them.

WCKIDZ is still around and has posted a little around here recently. I haven't seen the guy in ages though. He posted something about having a company car now, so I'm assuming all is going well for him.

The rest of the gang is doing well up here. Nigma lost all interest in cars when he got a bike and is now married with 2 kids. We see him for lunch every now and then and whenever we can get together for gatherings.

CT, KenZ24, and RedQuad are all regular posters at the Precizion site and all are doing well. Ken is the only one still driving a j-body though, and I nominated him for JOTM for September. Sadly, he didn't win. Maybe next month. C.T. and RedQuad both have little boys now. C.T's driving an Envoy and RedQuad has a Sentra Spec-V and an Impreza 2.4RS.

And Junior... haven't seen much of you on the P board lately. Drop by, bro!

As for the honourary Canadians... I still think that may go down as the absolute best Bash ever!!

LOL this is great. I had some guy on one of the VW boards say I took his username, so I came here to find my Join date. Well couldnt find one unfortunately. But I think I was literally one of the first 10 wh joined this site (Dave can you help me on that).

My Cavalier was sponsored unofficially by the only 2 companies at the time, RKSport and Mantapart. gregg from RK was the man until he quit and went to Texas to run his own business. Times definately have changed. We had to find ways to modify these car since nothing was available. RKSport used to have reasonable prices. Club J-Body was formed spamming every damn company telling them to make parts (90 emails from 90 people wanting a part made can change minds especially when some even offer a deposit). I remember Z24.com and the lovely flame wars back then. I remember almost getting my behind sued by Doms dad because someone was posting on a forum I was running giving him a bad name and I did want to give up the info. Then when the seen started to grow for comapnies, half of them opened shop and ran with the money.

Oh well I can go on and on and on. As for me, the cav turned into a beater, my old RK exhaust (with the four tips, aka the only catback system then) was hit by a Disney Golf cart, I got the dual cannon shooters from RK for $100 (list at the time was $500 I think). Then as my car became a beater the exhaust hangers broke on both mufflers so they were held up by bungie cords. Cracks were all in the interior, the car drove like mad though with the Mnatapart coilover suspension that got so dirty that it was no longer adjustable. I traded it in for $2000 which amazed me because it was worth $1300 in mint condition. now I drive a much more comfortable and it feels more solid built than the cav, VW GTI. Yes I am still on an auto/tiptronic tranny because my wife can drive manual, but I still ran a 15.4 stock. Well I am done reminicing. I dont know what my sig wil show because I havent posted in years so for those who dont remember me here you go:

Karl Kopp
Co-founder of Club J-Body (other two were Jim trevino, the original owner of GrimZ24, and Mike someone, forgot his last name but had a 95 1.3L Fire GT)
Co-founder of Florida Js
member of pretty much every j-body email list back in the day on Onelist.com LOL before they got taken by yahoo.

Ah the good ol days

I'm still here, though I've been more active over on the SVTPerformance forums lately. The Cavalier is still in my stable, although it doesn't see many miles these days. I loved the time I had at the 01 and 02 J-Bashes!

I almost made it out to the bash this year, but money was tight. I'm married now and have less money today than when I was 16. Go figure...

First Gen forum is where I spend my time, and JBO is still a great resource. Long live

Yep, Daryl, that's where I used to spend my time too...It's pretty quiet now.

Since my 1st gen died, I haven't really been in there...hopefully with a house and a few
bucks next spring, I can try to pick up another one...

I get to spend my time right now putting money into my beater, (a J for some odd reason) a 93 Wagon, prepping it and my wife's car for winter...

Not sure what I want to do with the 04, whether to auto-x, or custom up....

I saw him online today and IM'd THE Aldrin Bacugan. Talked a bit and linked him this post. He never reg'd here, so he might pop in now to say hi.

For 95% of you, Aldrin imported the first TRD kit back in the day (like 1998), it cost a TON even tho he worked for an airline. That same kit still exists and is the one Gravana molded theirs on.

From the Gallery of the 2nd bash in 1999...........

Look at that bad ass ride in front of his car.

Rock those rims.

Wow someone actually remembered the TRD Cav. To make the story short I aquired the first TRD kit imported back in 1998. I was refered to as "BuZZ". Too bad the TRD cav is no longer in exsistance. Also it was the first 3rd gen to hit 14's at the 2nd annual j-body bash.

Checking in as per request of EROD. Thanks Erod for the recognition!!!! To all the old school Cavies, my props to everyone.

Hey Buzz! Nice to see you still kicking around.

I remember years ago you actually sending me an email clarifying that Kenefic wasn't the one to actually build that car.

Much respect, bro!

Old Skool check-in indeed.
I joined sometime in 1999 sometime before 2k members that's all I remember. I joined before I even had my current sunbird... I remember the original 5 forum layout.

it's actually just a freak oops that I even saw this thread, as even when I used to post like 100 times a day here, I never would look in this forum (it almost never had anything that applied to me or was of intrest)

Therefor for that reason, i'm sure there are a LOT of people like me that are still on here (but maybe not as much) that simply don't read the general forum. Oh well.

I'm sure a lot of oldskoolers in this thread don't even know who I am since I was always far more involved in the 1st/2nd gen stuff...

Where's badz24, scruff.. see that's the problem is a lot of us non 3rd gen guys have limited exposure on here. lol.

I haven't heard from Bad in a while....I'm not sure he has either one of his cavs now..
(1st or 3rd)..

Does it help that I remember you?

Hey Guys, I dont know how many of you remember me, my old name was YellowSun. I didnt post much when i was here but i remember meeting a few of you, namely Wild Weasel. I joined in August of 2001 and i've sold the sunfire quite a bit ago and purchased a new vehicle. I still come on here from time to time to see some progress of some cars...and i enjoy the other car section too.

Here is my 1997 Sunfire before i sold it

My new car 2003 Mustang Mach 1

Long time no hear, Marco!

How much did you end up unloading the Sunfire for?

Congrats on the new car. I'll keep an eye out when I'm in the area. Nothing like personalized plates for picking a car out of the crowd.

Re: Old School Check-in
Monday, October 31, 2005 8:55 AM
Thanks Weasel!

Trust me you wont need to see my plates to find me now, the mustang is insanely loud!

I ended up selling the sunfire for 11,000 CDN which isnt bad for a 1997. A girl bought it near toronto area, its a small town i forgot the name.

But if your ever in town here stop by you know where i live!
