dirty elf wrote:thy dynamic changes dont apply to thread starting post names, shouldnt it change the thread start if u change ur name?
Dave said he modeled this after vBulletin... if an admin changes a user name for whatever reason (cause without hacking up vBulletin, display names cannot be changed by the user)... the thread starting post the name does not update...

I have a Sticky in the second gen forum...
only in the sticky my signature appears messed up... in all my regular posts in both second gen and mid east my signature is fine... but on the sticky its not...
I looked at it closer and this is what it is doing
To all posters in the stuck thread its putting a <br> tag between what was written and the post... as opposed to just making a new line... so it puts my signature next to the last line of text....
Its only doing it in the sticky though... i cant tell by looking at the other sticky in the forum because it looks like almost everyone used HTML in their signatures back then and haven't switched to dynamic yet

Just take the space out before the "URL" and "IMG" and "/IMG" and "/URL"
so it'll look like this

Damn, I need to hire you for my QA department. You've been tearing this thing up like nobody else has. I wish there were more people here that did that, instead of just ignoring a bug (I know, some of them don't know what is a bug and what is normal, but sometimes its just common sense).
It should now work correctly if you uncheck 'show signature'.
As for the BR problem, I think that has to do with disabling HTML completely, and how it reacts with older posts. I've set it up so it adds a line break before displaying the sig, so the general formatting should be much better. The BRs will have to stay in though at this point. There is no way to strip them out without potentially messing up other things.

yea i agree with the older post thing, cause i was looking in the archives and its doing it there too... but i just checked back, and the line break you just put in is there...
i'll let ya know if i find anymore bugs...
would it be possible to add an option to block sigs from just certain forums like AG and AAG?
the sigs in those forums have gotten out of hand
They can be blocked Jeffie
Go to forum options and pick a forum like you want to change your sig in that one but in there you can change where you don't want sigs to display
I would have had the same problem too looking at AG at work, but I turned off sigs
................Which car will hit 400 whp first???................
thank you chris just what i was after
I seem to be able to get the sigs to awork but now I cant seem to get it to resize.

Jcavi, change the <> to [ ] and your sig should work.

i'm not sure that VBScript (AKA Forum Code) has image size tags... I just checked my forums and vBulletin doesnt have it either... but that may be something to work in to it.... im all for it...
Up until HTML was disabled, i wish we had the Code and PHP options like vBulletin
The Code and PHP Tags
If you want to post some programming source code, or perhaps some ASCII art, which would require a non-proportional font, you can use the
tag to achieve this. For example:
<script language="Javascript">
<!--
alert("Hello world!");
//-->
</script>
In the example above, the text enclosed in the tags would be automatically indented, and the spacing would be preserved like this:
<script language="Javascript">
<!--
alert("Hello world!");
//-->
</script>
A special case is for code written in the PHP language. If you are posting PHP code, you can enclose the source code in
tags, and the script will automatically have syntax highlighting applied:
$myvar = "Hello World!";
for ($i=0; $i<10; $i++) {
echo $myvar."\n";
}
This would produce:
$myvar = "Hello World!";
for ($i=0; $i<10; $i++) {
echo $myvar."\n";
}
Incorrect vB Code Usage:
* www.vbulletin.com - don't put spaces between the bracketed code and the text you are applying the code to.
* myname@domain.com - the end brackets must include a forward slash ()
but having something that would kill the bracket for forum code would be nice for displaying forum code without having to put spaces...
-------
Now to make a long story short...
Jcavi... you are going to have to resize your image...
if you dont have the software to do it, feel free to send it to me and i'll do it for you
