Thanks again to everybody on here who sold me parts for my car, helped with random installs, and taught me all the many things ive learned about Js. I wished i had gotten a chance to get a JOTM or win a best of show or something with the Stealth Cavalier before it got hit, and im sure many of you never even knew i existed. but to the local folk here in ohio and everybody who complimented my car on here or at the bash... thanks for your support.

LOL

i kept looking in jacked and wrecked

so its not all my fault , lol

looks bad , but good luck on the repair job

not all the pictures in there were "jacked wrecked".,... it was an evolution thread of my car, just like many other threads in the photos forum. there were more pics of the car before the wreck in that thread than anything else.

Personally I wouldn't let a bodyshop tell my insurance company that something can be fixed, when they had already decided otherwise. Bodyshop clearly wants to make some money!

Best of luck though bro, I know what you mean, I don't think I could take my car back after something like that, I'd rather part with it.

joe... since they're making me keep it. im actually considering putting the ls kit back on and selling the freshly painted type J when i get it back... and putting the money from the kit into the motor. so we'll probably be twins again, lol. im just not hoenstly into the whole show car thing anymore. the replacement for the cavalier when i thought it was totalled was going to be something fast and stock looking... no kits. so i think i may go that route with the cavalier.

Good call, I'm beyond happy that I sold the kit, and now that I got the S/C again, well it's been a ton of fun!

Adam, I'm sorry to hear about what happened. I know what you mean about not being sure if the car will ever be the same again. A few months ago, I was hit by an uninsured driver who ran a stop sign w/o even slowing down & fled the scene. When they ended up finding her, she gave some bogus story that her car was stolen earlier that day & returned to her that night.
Anyway, my Z is a '99, and it had never been in any type of wreck before, and I only had 2 car payments left. When it first happened, I just wanted the car to be totaled because I doubted that it would ever be the same again. Since there was only $3,000 to $4,000 in damage, they ended up fixing my car. I ended up getting the TRD front, a completely brand new rear axle(brakes & everything), freshly painted rear bumper that was scratched up before the accident anyway, freshly refinished my Z wheels, and freshly painted rear quarter panels that needed paint anyway, too. I wanted to buy Joe Schulte's Type-J rear back when he was selling it or your Type-J rear, but neither of those worked out so I had my stock rear repaired.
So things ended up working out for me in the end. It would have been great if I wouldn't have had to pay my deductible when it wasn't my fault(and it sucks that my car was in the shop for a little over a month), but my insurance company is still supposedly trying to recover the money from the lady who hit me.
If you end up selling the Type-J kit, would you be willing to sell the rear bumper separately if it is going to be painted black?

I meant to say this in the last post, but I forgot to include it there at the end. I hope the repairs work out for you, and hopefully your insurance co. can go after the guy even though he's uninsured.

hey im probably going to sell the kit. in fact, the type j rear thats going on the car right now is a brand new one. the body shop ordered it directly from rksport. it will be a couple weeks before i get the car back to to start thinking about selling parts. and yes, it will be black. ill be selling the sides too most likely if you're interested.

I'm DEFINITELY interested in the Type-J rear bumper. For sides, I was thinking about WW Avenger sides, but now I'm leaning towards the GM Extreme sides........I kinda want sides that don't go up on the door or rear quarter panel. It just sucks that the Extreme sides are so expensive.

Adam, my email address in my registry is no longer working so I'm working on getting a new address. Since your email is unlisted, I'll just keep checking this site to see when/if you're selling the kit. Please keep me in mind for the rear bumper.......I'm in Columbus so I can pick it up & you wouldn't have to ship.

How did you talk them into buying you a new Type J kit? That's freakin cool!

Also, how come I get all kinds of @!#$e over my door decals (the ones with the logos of the products I use) but you seem to walk away unscathed?

I like your car - hope it all works out for ya.

trust me.... some people hated that roll call. but i think decals arent always distinctly good or bad, its all in how you do them. if they're done tastefully, all match, and not all over the place in random places, then its not always bad. but yeah, there were some that hated them.
