Ok, then have you checked the reluctor rings on the ends of the axles? The metal ring with the slots on it, that the sensor sees.

hmmm no i havent actually. i will check the fronts again tomorrow. i still have a nagging feeling that its a wiring problem but i will see. if the teeth are jacked, how much $ am i lookin at?

When you ran the codes.. which side was it? No sense in working on both... find out which one of the two it is, and go from there. Replacing stuff at random gets expensive!

The ring is press-fit onto the axle. You can replace the ring if it's damaged, but I've never seen a damaged one (except at the wreckers, if that was the wheel that got hit). You have to heat it to get it to fit, or replace the axle. I could get axles at the wreckers for around $50 each, dunno the cost in your area.

Just don't get an 03 axle w/o the reluctor ring... since the ABS became an option, the ring isn't on there if it doesn't have ABS.
