I think people have a mistaken idea about what SEMA really is. SEMA is NOT a "car show." Sure there are thousands of sweet cars there, but the cars are not the point of the show. SEMA is a TRADE show. It is designed to be the ultimate destination for people that work in the automotive aftermarket. Media coverage of SEMA just shows the cars - and of course, that's all that outsiders want to see. But you don't go to the show just to look at cars. The people at SEMA are there to make contacts and business partnerships, grow their product lines, announce new products, and show off to everyone else in the business. If you aren't there as a business person, just make sure you stay out of the way of the people that are there for that reason.
