The unexpected demise of a 1984 Pontiac J2000/Sunbird

Greetings to all!

Some of ya might remember me from a decade ago on this site. I have sad news re: my car in which I killed SCCA SOLO2 CCR and RM divs H-stock from '97 to '02. I sold the '84, autocross prepped, to a kid here in town a couple months ago since I bought a 1974 Jensen-Healey. Believe me, Lotus engines ARE harder to work on!!!! This kid promised he'd autocross the J2000, but instead he and friends took it up to Humbug Hill and jumped it a bunch of times. It was seen sitting on Ridge St. all crunched up just a couple days ago. I wanna send out a scum alert! That was the destruction of a locally famous J-body!! Anyway, good luck to all of you doing the legal competition thing. Keep it smooth yo!!!

we took a convertible 2 door one to the shredder a couple years back, it only need another engine

2.0L though

was pretty nice otherwise
no one fixes them

there arent alot of sunbirds around

very few

and no 80s ones at all anymore

all gone

cars like this are too thin of sheet metal to survive long here,
not rust proof sealed at all
plus ppl run them til they blow up anyways

My first J was an 84 J2000 Sunbird...4 door mind you...but I did have one at one time!

Eh...old man with a Corvette now...it was bound to happen sooner rather than later right?
