I'm a race shop owner now, hoping to break the world record for water-cooled VW hp by the end of the year. I have had my hands deep into the Supra, GTR, RX7 and VW/Audi scenes through the past couple of years and would like to get back to my roots and build a J-body shop car.

Believe it or not my wife wants a bodykit and stuff to make it "Riced out" LOL! I think I just will for the fun

I think that's where they teach you to mumble incoherently for hours and shake sticks at people.

Been here since 01, actually had another account before this one.
ima lurker, registered in 02 or 03, cant member... ah well.
Since the Cav has 150k miles on it, my family (now the four of us) needed another car with 4 doors... 06 Cobalt SS sedan to be exact
and now that we've invested in the sedan, the Cav is getting jealous! Starting rough, and burning oil too, it's feisty eh? Now I'm caught up in that dilemma, engine rebuild (shade-tree style) or swap for Eco. Lost for answers there, and looking for least expensive vs. easiest to do by my self... not adverse to spending the money on tools, or parts, just want to spend the least possible amount... cause I don't have it like a lot of the members do... but I'm not eating ramen yet either!
its great to see that there are so many "olbies" still 'round
"diapers or turbo? hmmmm...."

Joined sometime in early 03 lurked for a while in 02 back when I had my first cav that has never been seen on J-body (hence the lurk). Now my cav sees maybe a few thousand miles at best a year.
damn this is a long thread.....
I've been around here a while... a few years now.. I remember it all... I was looking to buy a car and I found a 2.2 3 spd 3rd gen. Was searching google for a while for a motor swap and came across the org.
Now I've got a 3100 cavalier sitting next to the garage while it patiently awaits it's rebirth.
