Big Decision Please Help

Hi everyone... I need some help with deciding on which car to get, long story short some lady T Boned me earlier this week and wrote my car off, it wasn't my fault and she was charged, I had a 02 Ford Taurus which I hated btw and after owning eight different cars that was the first one that was auto and the second that was a sedan so Im kinda glad that its gone, but now I need a car asap. I know that I'm not getting much from insurance so I have a budget of $3000. I'll be honest im a Honda guy and my last car was an rsx type s but years ago I had a black 99 z24, which I lowered and put an intake in. I loved it and now im looking to get another one, my budget is low so that means I have to get one with high km and I have no clue on how these vehicles run after 200,000km I basically have 3 options and the first one is a 2002 z24 silver with 210,000km asking $3000... Second one is a 2004 (new style) black z24 with 200,000km asking $2800 and the third one is from a buddy of mine which is a black 2005 with 64000km its a black two door manual but not a z24 and I can get it for $2650 firm.

So those are my three options, any help or advice will be greatly appreciated but to be honest I really like the 2002 and im sure I can get to around $2400 but will offer him $1800, obviously the best deal would be the non z24 but idk lol I want a z. please let me know what kind of offers I should be putting down, and kind of things I should be looking of when going for a test drive, also what kind of problems could come up when getting over that 200,00km hump.... Again thanks for reading and any option would be strongly considered, I know that the guys on this forum would be the best people to ask and once I get my car I will update with pix.

i still thought 03-05 zs had the ecotec and not the ld9 so its not a "true" z24

The "24" in z24 has nothing to do with the displacement of the engine.

88-89' Z24 = 2.8L V6
90-94' Z24 = 3.1L V6
95' Z24 = 2.3L I4

It wasn't until 96' that the Z24 (or any j-body trim for that matter) saw a 2.4L engine.

I have no signiture

Always going off topic... sigh...

To the OP... I'd go with the one from your buddy.. the only big differences between the Z24/LS Sport trim and the base models in the 03-05 years were the wheels and the body kit. And the suspension. And a few other things... but if you're planning on modifying the car, you're going to change all that stuff anyway.

If you plan on leaving the car stock... you may want to get the Z24 option. But otherwise... why bother?
