Brian Klocke died a little less than a year ago in I believe a motorcycle accident. I never knew him but his father (with help from Brian's friends and Karo) brought the car out to the Bash, even though the motor had been pulled out of it before Brian's accident. I had glanced at the car quickly early on Sunday, but hadn't really read the display and didn't at the time realize who's car it was. When I came back around to it later and realized what it was I have to say that I was really touched. Brian's dad was up on stage to give Karo this year's sportsmanship award for helping him to get the car ready to show at the Bash (even with no engine), and it was really a great tribute to Brian and the great people that worked so hard to honor him by bringing his pride and joy out to the Bash this year. We got that part of the awards on video and we will be making a short tribute video to Brian with the footage of his car and his Dad's presentation independent of me and PJ's big Bash vid that we're working on.

It was a really great tribute to Brian and his dad plans to get an engine in the car so that it will be able to be driven to next years bash. Just goes to prove what has been said every year about the Bash, its not about the cars, its about the people and the family that the J-body community really is during tough times.

It was awesome, and it's too bad everyone wasn't there to see it. It really really is about the people. JBO is a great bunch and I was very happy to meet a lot of you. Greg is like a dad to me, and he along with everyone else part of gateway JBO are really touched at everyone's attitude toward Brian and his story. Thanks again for those of you who supported Greg (BK's dad) and his efforts to get Brian's car there. Hopefully next year it will be running.

your so right Sarah......I know when we were unloading the car off the trailer, Erin got out and started crying.....All she could say was "I drove BKs Car ".....And tears started rolling....I know Greg had a great time and I see him going to every Bash after this...It was nice that we (Gateway JBO) stayed as a group at this event....And I know BK was there too....I know I am not the only one who kept getting lil chills...As far as getting it running for next years event, I think we are gonna have a blast doing it....

Bravo. I didn't know him personally, but from what I've heard, he was a great guy.
I was astounded to see a car there without an engine, then realized it was his.
Props to everyone that had a hand in this.

This was also a tribute to B....Brandon Fetter took the design from one of our other Gateway members (Mike D) and painted it into his trunk. We all had the stickers on our cars too.
