Anybody know the actual paint name/code for a red 1987 Sunbird? The code on the sticker in the car was smudged off....it's a solid red. Thanks.

Well, couldn't bring up the color code.. sorry. It's not coming up on the Compnine decoder. But I Google'd the VIN (actually, by accident) and saw this listing... http://www.usedcarsfsbo.com/asp/Item.asp?soldid=54693&make=Pontiac&theday=7%2F7%2F2012

So if that's your car... wow, it looks like it's in really nice shape!

I even tried running your VIN with a buddy of mine at a GM dealer.. no dice. For some reason, it's just not coming up. I have a list of all the possible colours for 1987 here, can scan it and send to you.

or there's this site: http://www.automotivetouchup.com/choosecolor/choosecolor.aspx?year=1996&make=Chevrolet&model=Cavalier&search.x=44&search.y=10 just plug in 1987 Pontiac, all models. I see 75 and 77 coming up, which are both on the list from GM. GM 75 = Fisher WA 8980, medium garnet red metallic. Or GM 77 = Fisher WA 9077 Medium Red Metallic.

Have you tried looking under the rear seat or behind the trunk carpeting for a build sheet? Might get lucky.
