A cheap BAD idea for a steering wheel hub.

I have an 04 sunfire that ive been working in steady now for about 3 weeks trying to finish it before september.

I have an aftermarket wheel i want to use but i cant find a hub thats not super expensive. Dose anyone have any ideas...

Im considering cutting out the spline socket from the stock wheel and drilling 6 hiles in it to line up with the holes in my aftermarket wheel, then run long threaded rod where the wheel screws would go through cut lengths of metal tubing to act as spacers and a sleeve for the threaded rod and puting lock nuts at each end.

It's probably the most important control in your car, don't jury rig it, live with the 'ugly' stock wheel before the modded one falls off at speed.

I miss my Cavalier, even if it made 100 hp on a cold day and had more suspension then it deserved.
