Hey Guys, I just took my car (00 Cavalier with 45K Miles) for its emissions test today and it failed the OBD Test. Here are the ERROR codes it came up with

P0336 Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Range/Performance
P0340 Camshaft Position Sensor A Circuit (Bank 1 or Single Sensor)
P0758 Shift Solenoid B Electrical
P1860 Manufacturer Specific Code

Can ANY of these be linked to my radio. I know when CC installed in back in 00 they wired it kind of wierd, so 90% of the time when I start the car, my "Check Engine" light is on.

Please help

P1860 TCC PWM Soleniod Circuit - whatever that is.
I erased my p0336 and it never came back.

how do I fix a P0117? I tried putting extra grounds around the chassis and on the engine to the chassis too.

PO117 is the code for a fault in the Coolant Temperature Sensor circuit, here's a link.

It could be a defective sensor or damaged wiring to and from it

Sometimes the computer will throw a false code... if you erase it and it comes back then the problem is genuine. Its better than tossing money around changing parts that don't need it due to that false code

i keep getting a few different codes... p0420 catalyst deficiency has degraded below a certain threshold, and then before that one i was getting one about a bad connection in my o2 sensor, i erased the codes last week, and only the 0420 one came back... i'm guessing it's an o2 sensor problem... now all i need is an oxy torch to get the damned thing out. ha ha

Can you bridged and get the CEl to blink like Honda's by chance ? (so you can count and get the code manually. ?

OBD - 1 you can do that. Not the newer cars.

yea it does............i have an obd2 reader and i love it but .....is it true guys if i have a code out reading P0420 Catalyst System Low Efficiency means that my catalyict conv. is bad???? what happens if i haven't changed it for a while??????/thanks!!!!

Very helpful post, i work part time at autozone, and any code over 900 i can't tell what it might be, cause those are manufactor codes supposedly as i have been told, and we have no listing for them.

I also work for an extended warranty company and one the programs we use is alldata, and based on your code p0420 Wario, the diag chart in alldata says "check for exhaust leaks, rear heated o2 sensor for leaks, and if that doesn't correct it then replace cat convertor" hope this is of some help.

my light came on in my dash and my ob2 scaner just come up with , P0302 (cyc 2 misfire ) and P0748 (pressure control solenoid circut electricl) . what would of caused this to happen. I cleared the codes and the light has not come back on. But is this some thing to be worried about?

mine is throwin 2 codes one is dt404 which is egr valve no biggy the other is dt 440 evap system what do I need for this one

Sometimes just replacing the gas filler cap will eliminate this code from coming up, but if not, then you have a leak somewhere in the evap system. They can be hard to trace down sometimes, but like I said, many times a new gas cap will correct the problem.

Hi. I keep pulling a p420 code, ive had my cat replaced and o2 sensor within the last year or so. I'm wondering if it's possible my header is creating the problem and I can ignore it... maybe because the cat is high flow? Thanks for any insight
ill try and tighten the o2 sensor more but dont think its the problem

Any place in Canada (Calgary to be specific) that will do an OBD2 scan for free ???
