When i start my 2001 cavalier coupe base some times the door chime will not stop going off until i turn off the car and pull the key out the ignition. This is also the case sometimes when i turn my headlights on before i start the car ( I installed an HID kit and it takes up to a minute some times till the are all the way "warmed up"). Has anyone else had this issue and know how to solve it? I dont want to cut out the chime noise to solve it so i know if my headlights are left on (that is if they even use the same sensor/wiring as the door chime)

Check the relays...Not sure about the cav but on the sunfire they are up under the dash somewhere near the passenger airbag.
