Hello,
New here, so forgive me if Im in the wrong place.I have a 1998 Sunfire GTX with a 2.2L automatic with 319,000 km. In order to start the engine, you have to press the gas pedal about a quarter of the way while cranking. Coil was replaced, spark plugs/wires,fuel pump, fuel filter all changed. Car runs great and idles fine around 600-700 rpm, does not puff smoke still has get up and go and runs fine on the highway. Any ideas? OBD2 codes will be read tomorrow.

im assuming you have proper fuel pressure with the new pump and filter. first things first, check the air filter. try and start the car without it on. if it is still having trouble, look at the throttle body and maybe clean it. you may have a vacuum leak somewhere also, but usually that would result in a rough idle.
