i got a 2dr 04 cav. i ordered rocker panels to replace my rusted out ones. how do i remove the old ones. i have read drill out the spot welds then kinda pull and chisle the olds off. after that im gonna clean all the rust undernether. and pait it all up to protect it from rusting again. on the driver side idk if thats the inner rocker or not( the part were i would weld the bottom back on) its pretty much all rot. how do i go bout replacing that i couldnt find replacement inner rocker panels so i figured see how its suppose to go and buy some sheet metal to put in then weld the outer panels to that. if all goes to plan at this point ill paint the inside of the rocker and drill holes every so far near the edge. ill mock it up and then mark the holes to grind bare from painting b4 so its nice and clean. ill then tack weld it on. after that do i need to lay a bead or is tackign it good enough? once its all welded on ill prime paint and clear coat.
