Chevy cavalier 2004 with automatic transmission and 65,000 miles

I had my transmission go bad in 2013, I don't know what happened, but when I was parking my car, the shift knob got stuck on drive, and it wouldn't move, I had to get a mechanic, and he changed some parts in there, and it worked again

It is still working, but ever since I can remember, even since 2006, my cavalier has always made some grinding noise when changing gears, sometimes it doesn't happen

I have noticed that it usually happens after I haven't used the car in hours or days, but after driving it around, and then parking again, it rarely happens, or the grinding noise is less noticeable

This is probably has to do with cavalier having @!#$ty transmission, as everything with the car
