Oil drain plug stripped, or oil pan?

2.2 ~ Cavi

As many times as I've changed my own oil over the years I don't know how this happened, but either the bolt or pan threads are stripped. Normally, which would it be? I assume the bolt threads would be designed to strip before the pan to ease repair. Is this true? I didn't have time to examine either at the last oil change (Had to get to work) or I would have answered my own question lol.

What do you all think? And what is the best way to repair?

Thanks in advance....

Probably the man striped. You should be able to get an oversized oil pan bolt.

On the inside my car looks like a fighter jet.
