Speedo jumping around
Wednesday, February 23, 2005 9:54 AM
Well when i drive down the road my speedometer starts to jump up and down and my transmission start to repeatly change gears when i am going at a steady pace. Is it possible that i could have a sensor out. How could i get it checked. My check engine light is not on, and its a 97z auto.

pull the VSS and check it to see if it is covered in metal shavings.

if it only happens when its cold out i know speedos that are not lubed up good and then the cold makes the metal housing contract then the needle jumps all over the place. that happened in my jeep and my gfs firebird. idk if it would happen in j's though.
