HELP!! B&M shift plus car won't shift out of first

I just finished installing a B&M shift plus on my 2004 2.2l ecotec cavalier with an automatic transmission. Went to take the car for a test drive around the block. The car will not shift out of first gear and the check engine light is on.Please help this is my only means of transportation.
