Thursday, February 17, 2005 4:24 AM
OK, so the other day im at work like every day, and go out at break and try and start the car, Startes fine it turns over...and over...and over but will not start. Will fire ONCE each time I try and start it, and feels like only 1 cyl. then just turns over and over, ect

So i get pissed go back to work and come out after work, got fuel and its flowing right. So i try and see if a fuel line is clogged? or has air in it. I turn the car on and off about 10 times and try and crank it...starts?!?!

Well not a seconds trouble untill this mornin...It just wont crank. I tried turing it on and off but no luck

I just did an engine and tranny swap(stock 2.2 SFI)

Im thinking the Crankshaft sensor or the ignition module?

Im going to get both off my old engine in a few, but i really dunno if ill be able to get the crankshaft censor out without removing the block....

HELP!!!

KRI Motorsports.com thx for the grammar lesson. Im sure we already knew what he meant.

anyway, if it is the fuel pump, consider yourself lucky you are not changing it on a thirdgen f body. On the camaros and firebirds, you have to drop the rear axle and exhuast to have at the fuel tank. the tanks on cavaliers are only two straps i believe.

dont use junk parts for a fuel pump, jesus, it could be shot already, and its not something youll really want to do soon again.

fuel pumps are cheap like 80-100 bucks for high performance ones.

u might have a f-d sending unit too.

Actually it can help you get home if your stuck somewhere. My old S-10 4x4 had a fuel pump that must have had a bad connection, so when it quit on me while I was in town I kicked the tank and it got me home. Took the sending unit out of the tank and fiddled with all the electrical connectors and it hasnt quit on me since.

first off thesecond Pump from the junk yard was from an 01 cavi with 2100 miles on it so i HIGHLY doubt its bad and it was only $50
And the preformance fuel pumps arnt pumps at all there just the motor so they WONT work.

Problems fixed irriguadless turned out to be a factory defect...Bad fuel pump wiring harness. Might wana check into recalls on this one it could cause a fire. Harness wire was torn INSIDE the tank that ran to the pump, and it was a LIVE wire.

anyways nice day!
