Why the hardware kit (Spring Kit) these are genrally only replaced if they are messed up or the car is over 8 years old. its not bad to replace them but not really nessacary. If you went metal to metal on the shoes and drums then yes the drums should be turned or replaced other wise save your self some money and keep the old ones.

No advice on doing it.

Don't pick up a haynes manual its uterly useless when it comes to rear brakes,

Just take the wheels off both side and remove the drums from both sides. Only replace 1 side @ a time so you always have something to look @ if you forget where 1 of the springs go. This is very important !!!

Now for some tool advice:
Get a brake spring compressor tool $5.00 @ most parts stores Look here
Get some brake spring Pliers $10 or less Look here
Get some brake cleaner

that should about do it. You really do not need those tools but it could turn a first time 2 hour brake job into 45 mins. These tools are designed to do the job right, plus you will have them if you need to do them again or if a friends needs them.

Hit 200 NA it broke once, Hit 213 it broke again,
Hitting 300 NA is further away than I thought.
