i cant start my car, Passlock? help please.

hey i have an ecotec, but i cant start the damn car, it seems like its not getting fuel.
i tried the passlock bypass thing, first time i turned the key it flashed, i let it flash till the light turned off on its own. Did that 3 times, now the Theft light doesnt come on anymore, UNTIL i turn the Key to try to start the car it flashes once and goes away, and my car just turns and turns and turns but doesnt no start.

I was hopeing you guys would be able to help me solve my problem.

When i turn the key to the on position, i hear the fuel pump, and the DRL relay and the DRL light on the cluster Flash and tick about 3-5 times then they turn off. i dont know if that has anything to do with the car not starting, or if thats another problem all together.

i would appreciate anyones input and or opinion on this, this has been a long project and its come to a halt cause of some stupid stuff.

Now i am currently assembeling a MegaSquirt EFI, and i know this SHOULD cure the thefty lock problem cause im will be able to control the injectors directly.

i know that i do have spark i checked, the spark plugs are good i changed them.
there is fuel in the fuel lines, i checked. The only thing i can think of is the injectors arent getting any signal from the computer to spray fuel.

did you change your ignition switch when you did the swap?

It has been my experience- even if passlock is disabling the vehicle, it will still start, but will shut off after a second with the theft system light flashing...

if it is not doing this, I dont think passlock is the problem.

I dont understand....

I have a 97 also, it's passlock II .. This just happened to me earlier today when I went to remote start my vehicle.. It turned over and died right away with the light flashing- I left the key in the ON position for 10 minutes- till the light went solid and started the car..

When i did the remote start, i didnt use a bypass module- just wired up a resistor in the ign. Its something Ive been meaning to fix.

lol forget what i said, im just frustrated, but it might not be a theft system issue.
i talked to zips who also did an ecotec swap, and he says his car starts for 3 seconds and turns off. so its just my car that doesnt want to start.

What would not let the car start, Other than the PCM fuses? (im pretty sure i checked these but ill check them again this weekend)

What about the DRL relay ticking / and the light flashing 3-4 times when i turn the key to the ON position? I dont think thats supposed to happen, the car has head light bulbs.
head lights work, as well as the high beams. I dont understand why it would flash so much when i turn the key.

Thanks

i say go to basics man, check for spark, check both ign fuses. make sure a plug wire didn't fry at some point. fuel pump is getting the right voltage, msd is operating (lil red light coming on ) crank position sensor hooked up. spark plugs are gaped correctly,PCM is bad, the timing chain should be good.starting circuit has loose wires. bad ground somewhere ( battery to body, body to engine ) really dumb but it does have gas ?no clutch petal not engaging all the way. bad starter solenoid, starter motor jammed at the flywheel, defective fuse-able link. I'm sure theres more Tylenol Cold medicine has me by the brain so if some thing doesn't make sense you know why. would the 2000+ having air bags and you not have anything to do with it? i just thought about the pic of your steering wheel and you not having it. but as i recall mine started when i left the drivers bag disabled but still connected physically. good luck to ya man.

I remember reading a post about the class 2 system in the 00+ J's. In the post it stated that each device (BCM, Cluster, PCM, Radio etc) connected to the class 2 wiring system carried a part of the vehicles VIN. Now it also said that if all of the numbers don't add up to the VIN stored in the PCM then things would not work. I might be barking up the wrong tree here as you may have gotten all the parts for your eco swap from a single car and I don't have any experience with doing swaps on J-body's. I just remembered this info and thought it might be helpful.
