Fuel Filter

How much gas is going to leak out after I lossen the fuel line fiting? I have a full tank a gas so is it just the fuel in the lines that will leak out?

not much, just make sure you plug the fuel line

remove your fuel cap to relieve tank pressure and just work fast. Sometimes the fuel will siphon down from the fuel rail but its not as much fuel as it may seem like. On a slim occasion the tank may siphon but not usually.

I think i'm going to change it next weekend when i use up most of my gas thats in the tank.. thanks for the info ...

Very little gas will be lost. Only what is in the filter will be lost.

dont forget to relieve the pressure in your fuel line.

take your fuel injection fuse out from under the hood while the car is running to relieve pressure.

Most of it will end up in your shirt sleeve and hopefully not in your armpit, like I did.

put a clean rag over the fittings and do a search for fuel filter so you can read about everyone M.Fing the black clips. use a wrench to compress the tabs.

i just unplug the fuel pump and start the car and let it stall. that clears out the fuel lines for me.

yep. then you only lose whats in the filter. have a drain pan available abd be prepared to f-up your hands with those clips.
