ABS is out after parking lights short out
Saturday, April 09, 2005 8:36 PM
Last friday my parking lights shorted out while sitting in park so i went home and pressed lock on my remote start remote and the parking lights flash when it does........ well the remote start i guess got too much current and fried so my started was on for about 45 sec til i ripped the remote start from under the dash AND IT SILL STARTS. LOL. well i spent my whole spring break trying to fnd the short and narrowed it down to the back lights. Well I didn't want to spend another day on it so I bought the stock brown wire color and rewired them to the back and it works. Well while I was working on the wiring I had to go to autozone fo rmore fuses. My ABS light turned on then after i started it back up and then it turned off. Well it rained light hell out the other day and this car slammed on its brakes so i had to also and all they did was lock up. which isn't good considering i'm trying to sell the car. The ABS light isn't on and the only CEL code i have is an EVAP code and Catalyst Efficiency which both have been on since last June.

What do you guys think is wrong?

Dont yell. If people can help, they will reply. not to mention it is the weekend so most people are probly out doing stuff.

I see no correlation between your light problem and your ABS problem.

The ABS light should only be on for 5 seconds when you start the car. If its not, your ABS isnt working. I dont know if that will throw a code, or what it will be.

If the ABS light stays on then there is a problem, but since its not on, i would assume theres nothing to worry about and they jsut dont feel like working.
