removing the block

okay so, i have everything off of the block, i am down to unbolting it from the tranny. Next question i have is, is the bloc attatched to the torque converter? if so then how many bolts, and how do i get them off?

no and yes. It is attacked to the crank via the the flex plate. 3 or 4 bolts maybe more I've never changed one on a j.
