What parts never break in a 3rd Gen?
Saturday, April 16, 2005 9:58 AM
I'm doing a rebuild on a 2.4 motor, i'm just wondering what parts i can re-use, which parts dont really wear out, i was thinking, actual pistons with new bearing, timing chain, valves and springs, etc. motor has 236,000 kms.

The block doesn't usually break... unless you smash a rod or piston (or both) through it

I think the IDI cover is pretty safe to re-use... maybe the timing chain cover too.. heh..
