no spark? HELP!!!!!
Tuesday, October 09, 2007 2:57 PM
my engine blew up a while back and i went and bought a new one ... well i finished putting the new one in today and im having issues with my plugs not sparking ... the car will turn over but no spark so i used a timing light to find out that there is nothing telling my car to fire ... after thinking about the possibilities i had my car hooked to a computer and it ran no codes ... so i went further and switched out the coil pack and also the crank and cam sensors thinking they might be bad ... but after all this my car is doing the same thing turning over but no spark???? i dont know what else to check and im lost ... if you have any ideas please help me out
thanks

Check the wiring in between the sensors and coil pack for a good circuit, maybe a wire is shot and is going to ground.

This is my 5 cents worth, (normally is would be 2 cents worth but I have adjusted it for inflation)

Car I drive:
99 Chevy Cavalier 2.2L 5 spd man (My daily car)
98 Ford Escort ZX2 4 spd auto

I put the timeing light on the wires right before the coil pack and I got 1 light when the car started to turn over and that's it only one light so the wires are good ...I think //but this is driving me insane so if anyone even has a off the wall idea please share it with me

Actually I am having the EXACT same problem....new motor, new ICM, new crank sensor, new cam sensor.....no spark. I have given a quick look at the wires, but didn't see anything majorly wrong. Did you ever figure out the problem?
