service light, ABS, traction light

OK, this started happening a few days ago. When i start the car its fine, after I drive about 2 feet the service light comes on, the ABS light comes on, and the Traction Control light comes on. I plugged in my scan tool and it came up with no codes. Now when i turn off the car and turn it back on, its fine, until I go to drive again. The lights come back on. Sometimes this happens and sometimes it doesn't. Any ideas, TIA

I dont think that TCS or ABS can be read with a scanner (unless you have a very expensive one). Only emissions codes can be read that way.

Take it to a shop.

Because your traction light and your ABS light came on the trouble is on the front wheels. The cause is either the wheel sensor itself or the sensor plug.I would try unplugging and plugging it back in first. If that doesnt work, check the sensor with an ohm meter. Good luck.

I think Dave is right. If your ABS was bad (like it is on my 98) the light would come on before you could even move the car. The ECU can't check the wheel speed sensors until the car is in motion. I think you get the lights because the wheel speed sensors and the VSS disagree once the car is in motion. Both the TCS and ABS systems depend on these sensors, so that's probably why they come on. Be happy your ABS really isn't bad, I still haven't been able to fix mine!
