Where are you?
From Fresno to San Diego.
I'm getting ready to do some major mods on the cavi and I'm looking for some experienced local guys to stand over my shoulder and tell me when I am messing up.
(Tranny/ Headwork, etc.) Unfortuantely I have had to luck meeeting in "real tuners" in my neck of the woods. (Well thats a lie but they all want to charge an arm and leg, and do all the work themselves).
So to my california brothers in arms. I make a plee to you.
Teach me, Let me learn.
Where are you?

Cool deal.
My buddy just picked up a 2000 Saab 9-3 Viggen.
Fast little bugger could not shake him with a 2.6 pulley, now I have a 2.5 and I can put a carlength in one and two and hold it till 108.

I am going to start porting a spare head I just came across... not tryin to make the best flowing head in the world just improve what I have... anyone have experience here (Porting), may be I can exchange pictures or if your close enough Ill drive to you and bring gifts (i.g. beer or soda depending on how you like to get down). Eithier I'd be extremely greatfull.

Thanks,
BLWN

for just a mild port job , you want to match the ports to the gaskets

then clean them up

the valve pockets will take a little more work , but that is where more gain will come from

ill see if i can snap a few pics at work tommorow

do the 2.3 oil pump , it gets rid of the balance shafts , and provides better oiling , as well as increases the motors oil capacity

i think it stick with the stock piston compression size

clean up the casting in the combustion chamber and polish it , as well as a ported and polished for the rest of the head

the cleaning and polishing of the combustion chamber will drop the overall compression , and you dont wanna drop it to far , or youll loose more power off bost
