Hello everyone,

Just registering to get some info on keep my woman's '97 Z24 on the road as long as possible. Her lower radiator hose split open tonight, and they're both overdue for replacement. Never done hoses on her car before - any degree of difficulty involved? Or just drain, un-clamp, replace, etc.? Gonna be doing this Saturday, most likely. (yay)

BTW, my name's Tom - I have a Cobalt and I'm on CobaltSS.net under the same screen name, and CIAZ.net under just "Tom". Take it easy all~

hi Tom.

yeah, should just be a drain, un-clamp, replace, re-fill, etc.

I'll pass it on to the Admins that you've registered.

Oh, and where's the drain plug at for it? Or do you drain at the hose? At work now, but just want to get this done as quick as possible after.

Thanks!

No worries. Got it done Friday night. With the exception of getting the plier clamps off with @!#$ty tools, it was cake! Only 70 bucks for upper / lower hoses, gallon of coolant, and some replacement clamps vs. the 200+ we would have paid at the shop.

Jeers to Autozone for selling the only hoses they had in stock in state 5 minutes before I walked in the door. They were supposed to hold them for me, too. Bastards...at least Checker had some at their Ahwatukhee store. Guess not too many people in that area drive 10 year old Cavaliers.

Sweet. I am in AZ for the next few months. You ever head out to Firebird drag?

What's funny to me is people bragging about beating Cavaliers in street races.
