I have a turbo on mine, not super charged...

There was a guy named Doug that lived in Colorado Springs that has/had a s/c on his car. Last I knew he was trying to sell the car, not sure if he did or not.

There is also LT1cavy in Colorado Springs and his had a turbo, not sure on him either anymore.

Yeah it was D-flo from the springs that had the RSM charger. He sold it and got an SRT-4. But last time he posted in here he wanted to buy the Cav back so he could have both.

If you buy it from RSM they ONLY sell it with install. And from what i've heard that kit has heat issues. The belt gets hot and stretches then starts to slip. The GM kit will work on the older Z's but its alot of work to make it fit right

hey matt, whats the diff between the older 2.4s?
the huge starter?
if its only the starter that could pretty easily be replaced right?

Re: any S/C in CO?

if its just the starter then thats no problem at all... a 00 - 02 starter would work fine on a 96?

There is a number of issues. One being the older, bigger starter. The other is EGR. Midway through 99 they went to non EGR. PCM reflash. Injectors as when they went away with EGR they went to high impedance (maybe its the other way around, can't remember).

Re: any S/C in CO?

ah i forgot about the egr

Re: any S/C in CO?

However, you can get a EGR simulator and that will eliminate the EGR. There has been talk about that here with good results.

All starters will interchange on the 96-02's with 2.4's.

Have you figured anything out for tuning yet?

Like SAFC, VAFC, Emanage, etc?

I may get my hands on a VAFC if you would be interested in it.

You may want to consider a fuel pump depending on the size of injectors you go with.

Re: any S/C in CO?

A VAFC will work, a lot of people don't know that though. You enable the V-Tech on the VAFC and it can not tell that there is not a v-tech on it. So, by getting one and enabling it you get an extra 16 adjustment points on top of the 16 there already is giving you a total of 32. I have seen this work on a NON v-tech engine and I can prove it.

Joe, it is a generation 1 VAFC

Man I am still looking for my old supercharged z24. I never found it. One of my friends saw the car at PMI last year and that is the last time. I did have alot of probs with the RSM. That is one of the reasons why I got rid of it. I had to fix it every weekend it seemed like. I dynoed to about 200 to the wheel corrected. I still have my srt4 but would love to have the cav back. I used to surprise people all the time with that car. I loved it because it was so different. My car looked stock too so it made it even better. But those days have passed. Maybe one of these days I will run across it and maybe the person will sell it back to me.
