hey D. did you tune your car on your own or did you get someone else to do it?

First I had Sean at Solid Technologies Dyno tune it for me. I didn't like the way it turned out so I have been tweaking myself ever since.

I have gotten my gas mileage back up to 26MPG with 750cc injectors. So I am pretty stoked about that. I also tweaked the timing and got a little more mid-range power and drive ability.

By no means am I an expert at tuning. That is why I would be doing it for you at cost.

I haven't talked to any of the j's on base. Though I have noticed a few more showing up. If you can get them together lets do it.

Using a cometic MLS head gasket. THe oil pan and cover gaskets are just high temp RVT.

Just look in my Sig to see what all I have. If you want to build it more than that be my guest.

I would suggest getting your head port matched. I didn't do that and I am kinda regretting it. Also I am wishing I had a ported throttle body. But that is easily fixed.

The best places to get the parts is Karo and Aaron. allecotec.com and turbotecracing.com. Also if there is something not on the websites just call them. What ever it is you want I am sure they can get it.

He did a great job on the build itself. i wasn't completely happy with the tune though. Plus it took for ever to get it done. It took about 5 months and cost me 4800.00

Budlong is the best. you will have to pull the motor yourself though. They did my head and honed my block.

nice talked to them yesterday.seem like good people. and price is not bad at all. did you get oversized pistons or stock. and the motor seems easier to pull out then on a honda. so thats no biggy.

ECOtec DOHC

Re: Albuquerque
Saturday, June 28, 2008 8:40 PM
I have stock sized. You should keep the stock size too. Bigger pistons ruin the engines integrity. They bore the sleeves to make them fit. It makes the sleeves weaker in the process. I dont suggest it. Plus honing a cylinder is cheaper than boring it out.
