Tucson J's III
Sunday, December 28, 2003 8:41 PM
Hey, whats up Tucson J-bodies and non-J owners! I have made the decision of looking for a J-car. So I can drive a more fuel efficient and lighter vehicle.
Nick, where have you disappeared to? I want to know when you and I are going to race at the track!? How is the car? Did you ever get your wheel back?
Not many people are cruising speedway this time of year just because it's cold out, but there are those that love driving and make it out.
I just want to hear from some people to say that there still here!
HEY REY!!!!!!!! i have just been kiding for a while---gone for the last weekend---then other than that just workin my a$$ off!!!!!! not sure if i am going to race the car anymore---but i have almost got everything back to the way it was before the jacka$$ hit my car in the college parking lot!!!!!! and for some reason the car seems to be running a little rough when she is cold, but that is probably just the cold weather and the necessity to replace the valve guide seals!! well enough rambling--gotta get to bed--later

I hear you Nick. I just got backed into again, but this time it wasn't metal damage. My co-worker backed his van into the left front portion of my grill, cracking the clear lens in two peaces, and broke a few peaces off the lower potion of the grill. It's OK, I have that other front end I'm converting to, so I said just help me buy some clear corners for the new grill. Good thing my bumper is still getting painted, otherwise that would have been damaged. All of this isn't that bad considering I was able to repair the corner light. Look, I made something out of nothing!
It's always this slow on speedway about this time of year, but then were else are you going to find a better cruise spot? Currently people are kickin' it at Arco but they leave, come back, shop, eat, chat, and whatever else they do there. I don't have any supporting points so I think I'll stop about Speedway.
Hey I was wondering if you guys could help me out, Im looking for an intake manifold for a 2002 Ecotec Sunfire and am having trouble. If you guys know where I can find one let me know.

What are you planning with the extra intake manifold? Are you planning boost or did you blow up the one on your car?
Where have you been looking, the salvage yards? chances are that here in Tucson you won't come across many blown ecotecs in the salvage yards. Try www.car-part.com, set your search to All States, then it will ask engine type. Vin 4 for 2200 non Eco, Vin F for 2.2 Eco.
Check the classified section. there is an RK High flow intake for an ECOtec for $100 OBO. it has a hole for a nitrous fitting. hope that helps
I already have that intake. Im looking for an intake manifold, not a WAI or CAI. I plan on having 210 HP naturally aspirated before I boost. Couldnt tell you what I plan on being at after boost.

What's up guys? I hear ya Nick, I've been really busy too. Not that I have any extra time or anything, but I actually joined a gym, so now that takes up any time I had left. Good news is that I got my CF hood put on finally. Looks pretty good, you should check out the pics in my registry.

Re: Tucson J's III

Who said anything about street racing? And what do you mean by "gay?" Express your opinion in full about Tucson's "gay street racing" Not bashing on you, just curios on why you think so.
Nick, are you there? "Has the chain loosened?"
Rollin 24, did you contact that person? I just saw that and assumed that was the intake manifold, not wai or cai.Hence why it has a hole for a nitrous fitting. Oh well. Besides, In my first reply to you, I knew what you were talking about.
No I havent contacted them. I assumed it was the same thing that I ordered from RK, RK High flow intake, Ive only been on there website and I never saw an intake manifold for an ecotec. Thanks anyways, Im buyin my stuff from Mantapart unless there are better deals I find from others.
Re: Tucson J's III
Thursday, January 15, 2004 8:57 PM
Mantapart? How long did they say your order was going to take? I've heard some things about them, but not as bad as dragevolution2200! Ether way, your probably better off doing things that way. I know, because I have to do a head gasket to my cavy, so it's going to be sent to the machine shop for it's downtime and install new stainless steel valves and valve springs.
John, you may have a point about some of these people. Yes they do talk a lot of trash, but then it's more fun to smash on there car than to let it fly! Beat the snot out of there car to teach those riceboys a lesson in domestic power! I have a couple of accords that I need to beat so they can show some respect tward the J's; They are stuck up honda punks that think just 'cause they beat an auto ecotec at the track, they can beat all J's! BS! I am not a one-sided person, I am open minded to all cars and not just brand loyal. That to me is just dumb.
LOL BigRey ill sell you my cavalier once its outta the shop from being painted...perfect car to start a good project with.....convertible too.....if you want i also have a drift rear and drif sides for it as well you could have as part of the sale, and an air bag suspension system.....or if you find yourself a cavalier ill sell them to you. its easier to buy body parts in town then outta town no outrageous shipping prices. cars also got only 30k on it and its a 1998 cavalier z24 (2.4l) convertible
Thanks for the offer FoundmyZ, But I just got me a nice and strait 1995 2.2 5speed 4 door. The only thing that sucks a big one is that the head gasket gave out in the number 2 cylinder! So it injects water into that cylinder. But I'll take you up on the drift rear bumper just 'cause my cavy is a 4dr. Let me know how much you want for it; I may be able to find you a buyer for those side skirts too!
