If you dont have a cat on the car, I have heard that you could get a huge fine.

I dont have a cat or muffler on mine, and I have not gotten messed with....pic below..

I have not been pulled over yet for driving without a cat or muffler since the turbo has been on the car. But I did get pulled over twice in the same because the car was so loud without a cat & muffler.

One officer pulled me over and said that it sounded like my muffler is falling off. "Oh yes sir, it fell off yesterday, I already ordred another one"

About 3 weeks later, I was pulled over by a different cop in a different city and he said the same thing. "Yes sir, it fell off a few days ago, but I have not been able to get it fixed because I have been in jury duty all week."

Hopefully the same cops wont pull me over any time soon for the same thing. *knocking on wood*

From what it sounds like it just depends on how nice the officer wants to be. Don't ever get pulled over in El Paso by S.O. or even worse a State Trooper they have been known to writ tickets for......(this might take a while) illegally lowered vehicle; illegal muffler; clear corners or tail lights; suspension; tint. As well as numerous other thighs that a pull off the top of my head. According to Texas Dept. of Transportation changing any aspect of the vehicle performance or driving stance is illegal. And many shops will not give you an inspection if your vehicle doesn't clear the rails.
