Feeler Post, My Car For Sale
Sunday, June 15, 2008 10:30 AM
I'm thinking of selling the car, just because I don't have time to put into it anymore. Its been sitting in my garage for over a year and a half, and I put very few miles on it (less than 1000 in almost 2 years).

The Basics:

2000 Cavalier 2.4L Z24, Auto-to-5 speed converted.
Sunroof
Power Windows
Power Locks
Power Mirrors
82,000 Miles, less than 8k turbo'd.
03+ Front End Conversion

The Mods:

Engine:
* Secret Cams (Not Installed, included)
* Cometic .074 Boost Headgasket (Not Installed, included)
* Prothane Upper Engine Mount
* Prothane Lower Engine Mount
* NGK TR6 #4177
* 2.3 HO Intake Manifold
* Phenolic Intake Manifold Spacer
* T3 Turbo Exhaust Manifold + Stainless steel Exploited manifold not installed, but included
* T3 Super 60 Turbo .48 Hot/.60 Cold
* 30x6x3 Johnny Racecar Intercooler
* TurboXS RFL Blow Off Valve
* 2.5" Downpipe
* Greddy Profec B Spec 2 Electronic Boost Controller
* 42lb/hr Ford Green Top Injectors
* Cartech BEGI 2025 Adjustable FMU (Not installed anymore, HPT took care of that, but included)
* Accel Adjustable FPR 74565
* AEM UEGO Wideband Gauge
* Autometer SportComp Fuel 1.5" Pressure Gauge (broken lense, but still works, installed on fuel rail)
* GlowShift Tinted Boost Gauge
* GlowShift Tinted Oil Pressure
* GlowShift Tinted Oil Temperature
* GlowShift Tinted Voltmeter
* Mandrel Bent Charge Piping
* 1/4" ID Braided SS Oil Feed with oil restrictor
* 5/8" ID Oil Return
* Mushroom Foam Air Filter (Not installed or included, I think I lost this somewhere)
* Felpro Intake Gasket
* Felpro Exhaust Gasket
* Felpro Oil Pan Gasket
* Enough brass fittings to plumb a house
* 2.5" Downpipe Back Exhaust
* 2.5" N-1 Style Muffler (also includes a single in, dual out Magnaflow 40, not installed)
* 2.5" Catco High flow cat (not installed, but included IF I can find it)
* 2.5" Flex pipe
* Silicone hose connectors
* T-Bolt Clamps
* Steel T3 Gaskets
* Grade 9 Turbo studs and nuts
* Relocated Battery with box
* 4 Gauge Battery Cable
* Total cost: $3775 ish
*

HP Tuners VCM (ECU) Editor Enhanced I/O Version 2.1 (Not included in the sale, sorry)
* 2000+ Getrag Transmission
* Spec Stage III Clutch (ZERO MILES ON A NEW CLUTCH CURRENTLY)
* Team Green LSD Insert
* Fidanza Short Shifter
* Total Investement: $5250ish

Exterior:
* Shaved moldings
* Shaved emblems
* Pure 03+ Full Urethane Drift Kit (VERY RARE, THESE AREN'T MADE ANYMORE, needs some paint though, its flaking off)
* 03+ JSP OEM Carbon Fiber Hood (couple spiderweb cracks, hard to see unless you're looking)
* 03+ Custom Projector Headlights (could be reworked a bit, the aim is off on them, VERY bright)

Suspension:
* 17" RSS Heisei (Good shape, no road rash, could use a few minutes with Scotch Brite, lugnuts keep rusting though)
* 225/45/17 Hanook Fusions (less than 1000 miles on the tires)
* Eibach Sportlines (2" drop, looks VERY good)
* Prothane Control Arm Bushings
* Brand new, zero miles on the front wheel bearings

Interior:
* Yonaka Synthetic Leather Racing Seats(Black/Black Stitching)
* 5 Point Racing Harnesses, not installed but included, black/black
* Custom dash with gauges molded in (needs paint)
* 3 Pod Pillar
* Needs a drivers side interior door panel (currently MIA), I will continue to try to find one, but they can be had for less than $100 at a u-pick-it.

The Bad:
First, this car is currently titled in Wisconsin. Not a bad thing, its easy to sell to Texas. I have no lien on the car so it would be easy to transfer the title.

Second, it does need a little paint on the body kit. The place I had put the paint on the kit didn't do very well and its flaking off in some area's. There's also an easy to fix bump on the rear bumper near the trunk.

Third, this car WILL NOT pass a safety test. It does not have (currently) a drivers seat belt or a horn. It also does not have a catalytic converter. I'm confident that if it did, it would pass the test. There is also the check engine light on from the rear O2 sensor and stuff dealing with the auto-to-5 speed conversion, I just haven't had time to turn the MIL's off. I can do this before (if) it sells.

Fourth, if you are considering this car as a daily driver, I would highly suggest you think twice. This is a reliable car if taken care of and even with 440cc injectors it gets GREAT gas mileage (provided you don't use the turbo that much). That being said, when you do things like I've done to this car (performance mods), breakdowns come with the territory.

Lastly, if I don't get a chance to break in the clutch I would suggest that it gets trailered to the final destination where the clutch can be broken in properly.

The Great:
This car dyno'd at 238whp and 278wtq with a slipping clutch (not the one currently installed) and my boost controller bleeding from 10psi to 7psi. The car now has a new clutch and can hold 10psi at the turbo, so 250whp and 300wtq is not out of the question, on a completely stock engine. This car is FUN to drive.

The Damage:
Asking $6500 or best offer.

Man, this car is such a beast that I hate asking this... but would you be willing to part/trade any of the parts? like the seats, rims, hood, suspension maybe? ... could then maybe be able to lower your price and sell it quicker.

also, there's tons of guys here locally in htown that would be interested in the parts and you wouldn't have to worry about shipping anything.

Not really interested in parting it out, I don't have the time to part it and be swapping parts out for stock, so by the time I'm done I'd have a pile of parts and a car all I could do is drag to a junk yard.
