i have mine blacked out going on about almost a year starting to fade a little as time goes by. i did mine with the nightshade as well and cleared but they still faded. your best bet is to take them to get done somewhere, you can still get good results with the nightshade but it takes time to get them right. there is a post on here about how to do it properly and get great results but they were painted, wetsanded, and i believe like 3 stages of buffing, cant remember if they were cleared or not but they loked like glass, they were on a black 350z and they matched perfectly with the paint on the car nice and glossy.

Ok...I did mine with niteshades....i think took it further...

I started with 5-7 coats of VHT all the way across....then 2-3 coats of Clear...let it cure over night....

Buy 1500-2000 grit wet sandpaper... tape off your trunk

spray that @!#$ down with mildly soapy water.

Wetsand till when dry all surfaces look hazy/foggy

Then you get Meguirs Plast-x and buff the haze...

You can re clear coat 1-2 coats more if you prefer...i did not need too

Mine are waxed every time i wax the car

Looks sh;iny as hell love em. PM if you need help or pics
