Ecotec MSD DIS-2
Sunday, February 01, 2004 12:10 PM
I am going the MSD 2 route with my ECO.

Here is what I just ordered

DIS2 box #6211
2 GM adapters #8870
2 Coil Packs #8224

Ive found EVENTS wiring diagram which is great, but it was for the 2200.

I know JETBLACKGT has done this with the 2.4 ....no diagram

Can anyone help me wire this badboy up when I gets here???

Thanks

Don't you need the Digital-7 to run the new distributor?
Can you use the Dis-2 with it?

I was under the impression this was geared towards high end drag applications?

Just wondering, if not maybe I should have gone that route.

I know Jesse (Ecocav) had one on his car.

General is right about the one I've been working on. From the original idea to make a bolt-on plug-in MSD system for the 2.4 and 2.2/2200, I'm also working on a design for the Ecotec. The test fit on the 2.4 has gone very well so far and will basically let you install a complete MSD ignition (DIS-2, MSD coil packs and MSD Superconductor wires) in less than an hour with hand tools and NO CUTTING OR SPLICING WIRES.

The 2.4 system is a complete replacement for the IDI cover and the enclosed electronics. The 2.2/2200 system will be a mounting bracket that will relocate the module & coil packs and give a solid mounting point for the DIS-2 control unit. The Ecotec system is still in design, but will be the same theory. it will attach to the top of the motor and provide wiring, mounts, etc for all the components.

I will keep everyone posted, as the 2.4 and 2.2/2200 systems will be released very shortly. The Ecotec system is a few weeks from test fitting right now because of a few setbacks, but it won't be forgotten
