What year 2.3TB do you need? can you still buy them? (no junkyards have 'em around here)...I also want to keep cruise.
Thanks.

more help guys..... i used all the 2.3 sensors and it runs pretty much perfect, except when i let off the gas, it will continue to hold or even raise the rpm's for about 3 seconds then it drops back down again to idle.. any idea why its racing like it is??? thanks guys
does it surge in gear?
i would take out your iac and pull the pintle allll the way out, and then reinstall it. Then reset your ECM. then start the car and see if the problem is still there.

cavi where did u get ur throttle body bracket that holds ur cables? and did u keep cruise? If so, whats the part number so it switches the cable around?

What throttle cable braket did you use? I had the same thing, i used my 2.4 braket and everyonce and awhile it would do that, all i would have to do is put the clutch and and flick/wack the gas pedal really quick and it would be fine. But i think it was from the sharp angle that the 2.4 braket left the cable in and would hold the TB open alittle.

you don't have to hack up your throttle body or hack up and mismatch your sensors.
this is real simple, OH KAY EVERYBODY listen...
**2.3 sensors go on the 2.3 throttle body. THAT'S IT. they will work FINE on your car. **
Mixing them up will give you all kinds of PROBLEMS like a high idle because the IAC isn't sealing properly, and because the TPS is @!#$ up. If you're that hard up for 2.3 sensors, PM me, i can send you some!!!
That ho manifold install write up is full of innacuracies because when it was written nobody else had done it. Don't follow it. There are better ways to do it.
DO NOT hack up the bell crank on your throttle body trying to swap it with a 2.4 TB bell crank. You can easily use the stock 2.4 cable bracket if you drill a teensy little throttle cable hookup hole on the 2.3 throttle body bellcrank in the same spot where it is on the 2.4. There. Done.
Your right, I wrote that "How To" up about 2 - 2 1/2 years ago. The whole part about swapping the sensors was from 3 problems I came across. 1. Out of about 6 2.3 T/P sensors I tested, all 6 had different results then the 2.4 T/P sensors I compaired them too. (all 6 where used ones from t/b's pulled from engines.... some in running condition) So it made sense to use the 2.4 sensors that worked before the swap. 2. Same problem with the IAC motors. The ones that came from the junk yard have been sitting, and some did not work at all, or would not close all the way. By swapping the pintels, the 2.4 IAC works fine on the 2.3 t/b. 3. The price of brand new sensors raised the price of this swap, and people always complain about price.
I'm sorry the "How To" is not perfect, but its helped quite a few people since I wrote it. There are things I would change/add (IE, the addition of the EGR Sim, the 2.4/2.3 adapter, part numbers for the new T/P & IAC sensors). Also, if your using a 2.3 t/b, use a 2.3 bracket, if your using a 2.4 t/b, use a 2.4 bracket. (the 95 bracket works great on the manifolds with the extra bolt hole for that style bracket)
If your idling high, check to make sure the t/b is closing all the way, check for vac. leaks, check the IAC motor. If its bogging when you take off, check the vac line for the MAP, and check the T/P sensor.

thanks guys, yea i played around with it more tonight, no leaks at all.. im gunna try to pull the spring allt he way down on the IAC tomorroa an maybe try to use the 2.4 one if that doesnt work.. it doesnt bog anymore, it actually pulls A LOT harder throu the gears and i still dont have any check engine lites comin on...
All in all, the only thing that has to be done is to drill a small hole for the throttle cable and thats it?

That and drill a hole in the 2.4 bracket (if your even using the 2.4 bracket) so it will bolt up. thats all you have to do to make a 2.3 TB work with the HO mani swap

i'm talking about just using the 2.3L T/B on the 2.4L manifold...
