He's talking about the 2.4L (I don't know which others) which use the camshaft to drive the power steering pump. At least I think that's what they use...

I just do not see how the belt would work without the ( PS, and possibly AC) pullies. Maybe a bracket could be fabbed up just to hold a freely spinning pulley in place, but that is also conditional to having a manual rack .

older quad engine had a small belt that attached to the pump and cam. And they do steal some power if the engine is runing it is maning the engine work. Just what for the camless gas engine to arrive that will free up some power. All so manual steering cars have more negitive caster think of a shopping cart.

this is all just a dream but:
maybe if there was a belt driven/ roots style supercharger & pulley by the intake manifold in place of the PS pump & pulley with the PS all removed and a manual rack installed? I'm sure jackson racing could make something like that happen if they wanted to.

i dig that put space wide you would never fit a pully that big on your cam and then if you did you would stress it real bad.
