MSD Ignition for the Ecotec: Can it be done?
Sunday, February 27, 2005 3:50 PM
Im sure all of you with nitrous and turbo want to retard the timing on your ecotecs. Im sure you were all eventually led, like myself, to the MSD dis-2 system. I've looked all over and found many mixed opinions. So once and for all, has anyone done it?

I think if you use a 2.4 moduale you could . You could also convert it to a 2.2 dual coil ignition

Yes, it canbe done. You need the Saturn cam sync for it to work. An external blaster coil and wire conversion will also run around an extrra $150.

I've seen the conversion done with an older dodge neon ignition system. Module rewired in and the external coils. Or you could hook up the older 2.2 system in also. That way you could run the interface modules to ease the install.
